In 2024 we ordered new kitchen cabinets from W Stephens. They were meant to be our dream kitchen with UK blue cabinets, intended to last 20+ years. We asked questions about duarbility, weight capacity of drawers, etc. Specifically asked how durable the paint would be as we have 4 kids, and were told it was something like 3 layers and very durable. Fast forward to late 2025 and this nightmare of an ordeal is still continuing. The original delivery of cablinets had a high number fo scratches and quality issues. I understand this is normal for cabinet orders, they're almost never right on the first delivery so you get replacement doors, panels, etc. However I've lost count of the re-shipped parts. A large pantry cabinet initially came with an unfinished exposed side (along with the over-fridge cabinet). Those were re--shipped. The replacement pantry cabinet came with scratches on the doors and sides. They sent a furniture repair company I think 3 times to fix that and other scratched surfaces. Other replacement cabinets (I ended up with 6 scratched and damaged cabinets in my basement) came with extra holes, scratches, broken hinge installs, etc.
Throughout the process we were made to feel like we are being too picky, that scratches on visible, exterior surfaces are normal upon delivery, and that we had unrealistic expectations of quality. They'd point out things they didn't get wrong instead. However drawers would rub together when opened, which sometimes was because the drawer fronts were too wide. Or I'd try to adjsut the drawer fronts so the gaps between them would be even, and it just wasn't possible due to the build quality and tolerances being too far out. At this point with the kitchen being installed a little over a year, most of the clear rubber bumpers have fallen off the insides of the drawer fronts, and some have taken the paint with them. What is that? Seriously, if the bumpers can peel the paint off, how durable could it possibly be? They have no explanation for this.
Over the months... years... W Stephens and the cabinet manufacturer have been here to see and try to resolve the issues, but I'm still waiting on new drawer fronts. It's been 2 months since I've gotten any update. When those parts arrive, I'm supposed to be the one to drill holes for drawer handles and replace the parts.
I'm giving 2 stars becuase at least they haven't refused to stand by the warranty and act like they're doing to replace parts until it's fixed, but this has resulted in so much time and work required from us that I really don't care much. Every day I open a drawer and have it stick becuase there's residue from a bumper somewhere, or some more paint comes off, or one drawer runs into another, and am reminded that we have bought garbage. I wish I'd bought from Home Depot or something instead. It would have cost a lot less, even if it were the same garbage quality.
I haven't heard from W Stephens in ages. The only ones communicating are the cabinet manufacturer. If you have any issues with your order from Stephens, exepct them to lose interest after the first couple of issues and refer you to the manufacturer from then on. That's what's happened to us.
In case you think we are overly picky, I'm adding some pictures of some of the issues we've had. There isn't enough time today to upload all of them.

From the beginning of laying out the design to completion, we were completely satisfied with the service and the craftsmanship from Wayne and his partner, Matt Williams. They communicated with us on the timing of each step, and we were satisfied with the timing of the entire project. We highly recommend Wayne and Matt for your next kitchen remodel!

We had went in with measurements and expressed which cabinets we wanted and were told that they would draw up the plans. We came back o week later we were told they weren't finished..the following week we came back we were told the woman who would talk to us wasn't in that day. We asked when she would be in, so we came back that day and she was in..busy with another customer. Neither the receptionist nor the woman we needed to talk to would acknowledge our existance..(as in to say we will be with you in a minute) so we stood there 15 minutes and decided to take our business elsewhere. GLAD WE DID. I think I have no people but that case has even less.
