Soon after moving into a new home in Shawnee, I discovered Anthony Heating Cooling & Plumbing had connected the refrigerator water line to the hot water piping. They cited the "Mpemba effect" and stated this is the preferred practice when connecting a supply line to an ice maker. (The Mpemba effect occurs under specific controlled conditions that allow hot water to freeze faster than cold water, but it is not a universal rule.)
I was flabbergasted. AHCP was justifying their practice by citing a niche science experiment and dismissing the facts that: 1) manufactures' instructions recommend using the cold water line, 2) using the hot water line risks damage to the ice maker component & places an increased load on the compressor, and 3) this practice funnels sediment from the water heater into the users ice & drinking water.

BEWARE. If I could give zero stars I would. Our AC kept shutting off. We hade 4 visits by 4 different technicians. No one figured out the issue. One technician replace a part that cost over 600.00 and it still didn't work. I went outside to look at the unit and it was so dirty you could see dirt poking out of the vents. I cleaned it and it worked perfectly. No one caught that it was dirty. Now the department manager who you cannot speak to directly won't refund any portion of the bill and is looking for a way to get out. However they did try to upsell us on every service and even a new hvac unit. Now I have to take off work for a 5th time for another service call so a 5th technician can "get a set of readings" so this manager can try to justify their charge. This company does not care about it's customer or reputation. Use anyone else. You would be better off google your problem and fixing it yourself. I sent this pictures in and the manager had someone call me to say "he reviewed the pictures and said this isn't that dirty and wouldn't cause a problem".

We have been Antony’s customers for close to 15 years and pay for their monthly maintenance plan, which provides a discount for service. Their technicians are consistently good and they can get you scheduled fairly quickly when you need service, although annual maintenance appointments can take some time. We recently had a leak in our refrigerator and the technician that came out quoted $630 to replace a valve. That was with our membership discount. I paid the $89 service call and called another company. They came out, charged $305 for 30 minutes to replace the valve. Their technician was just as friendly and knowledgeable as Anthony’s. We are really disappointed with the price Anthony’s quoted and are glad we looked around to find the same service for half as much.

Both of your technicians were absolutely amazing. They explained in detail everything they were going to do today. They removed all of my old air conditioning systems as well as all of the old heating systems. Replace all the old duct work. They started putting in all new duct work and the install the newest and best equipment available today for my heating and cooling needs. I’ve lived in my house since 1998 when I had it built and every year I’ve been here I have fought with keeping my outside air conditioning unit level. I live at the base of a steep hill. So erosion has been a nightmare. However thanks to Anthony’s my new compressor unit that is attached to the side of my house and way off the ground, problem solved forever. I want to thank each and every person that helped me, and found the best equipment for me. So if anyone reading this needs help like I did, I can’t say enough about these people. And thanks for my best friend for recommending them.

I genuinely have no clue how this company has the reviews it does. Do yourself a favor & read the 1 star reviews & make your decision from there, I sure wish I would have instead of going off all the good reviews. Absolutely horrible to do business with. I have used them for 6 years, since I bought my house & any issues I’ve had, they’ve came out. Extremely overpriced. They installed my furnace, AC & water heater for me. Turns out my water heater they installed in August 2025 had a leak (later confirmed by spire) they came out (due to an inspector finding the leak prior) & said there is no leak. Had spire come out the following day & they located the leak & shut my gas off. Anthony’s came back out & said the leak isn’t coming from anything they touched (go figure) & quoted me over 1K to fix. If they had found the leak when they first came out, as a reputable business should, I would not be paying over 1K. Kelly from their “customer care team” is a TOTAL joke & very unprofessional. He didn’t know what was going on from the beginning & still doesn’t know how to do business considering I’ve been a loyal customer for 6 years. He put in his notes he was unable to reach me which is weird considering we spoke at 12:45, according to my call log, & i gave green light to do the work (when I really should’ve found another company at this point). His notes said we spoke at 3pm & it was “too late to come out to do the testing”. He is a bald faced liar. I had to call several times to see if they even came to my house (I don’t reside there since it’s been on the market) & turns out they never came to do the work. & no one was planning to notify me. My house had the gas shut off & no gas during one of the coldest days of the year. When I brought this up to their front office staff, Cynthia, & asked for an apology for not being notified about any of this, she refused to give one & I was hung up on. Then she called back & blamed it on “poor connection”. Horribly unprofessional. 1 star is being generous. AVOID ANTHONY’S if you can! Save yourself the trouble. I never write reviews but this was warranted.
UPDATE: I had another company come out today and do the repair for half the price. Anthonys has not reached out to me directly to rectify any of this. Moral of my long review: SHOP AROUND!
