They gave me the facts and pricing to help make an educated decision on my new furnace purchase. I was using my home warranty program, so JL Mechanical was assigned to me as their vendor. I had a new furnace installed and JL Mechanical kept me updated with the date of service plus text messages to remind me and give me a link to track my installation team members. They also email you a snapshot of those who will be doing the installation work. Robert was my guy and he was intelligent, patient, friendly, and answered all my questions. In fact, I've had repairs and installations done in my house before but the entire work area and my house was completely CLEANED UP when they were done. (I can't say the same about Comcast when they drill a hole in your wall) Everything is working great - it's been a few days now and I have HEAT - in fact, the new furnace is even quieter than the previous one and I can't even tell it's running. No more freezing nights wearing sweatshirts and ten blankets to bed!!! Thanks for the help and installation - I greatly appreciate the service, phone calls, and follow-ups!!!

Take your chances with JL if you're hurting for heat and you're unable to book another option, but just know you're at the mercy of the office staff who don't seem to have a handle on customer service or how to schedule appointments. The second star is purely because Jared has been great. The first star is an obligation for Google to post this review.
- BABeverly Ashton5 days ago5.0My furnace went out. It has to be replaced. My home warranty company, Home Security of America is a SCAM company. Do not buy a home warranty from this company. It is bait and switch! They tell you your furnace is covered if there is a problem, but first they said I would have to pay $1254 for non- covered costs. The furnace would be replaced with a 30 day warranty on parts and labor. Then, they changed their way and said my out of pocket expenses would be $2000 for the same replacement and warranty. The service company they dispatched to me was JL Mechanical out of Valparaiso. JL Mechanical was more than professional. They went out of their way to explain everything to me and offered an alternative of replacing my furnace for a reasonable price with a 10 year warranty. Which would you choose? "A fool and their money soon part." Buyer beware! Do not buy a home warranty from Home Security of America! Oh, then HSA asked for a review and I gave them a 1 star rating, and they tried to turn it around saying my review was for JL Mechanical. ABSOLUTELY NOT!! If asked for a review of JL Mechanical, I would give them 5 stars. Very professional and I plan to continue my business with them. Home Security of America, ha! You can stick your warranty where the sun doesn't shine! Never again and I advise everyone to avoid their bait and switch tactics! Stay far away!

Then he quietly and efficiently did his work, gave me some advice as to how to increase my furnace’s efficiency and helped me program a thermostat I’ve had for far too long that has been a mystery to me since I bought it. And then - BAM - he was gone! So you tell me, what’s not to love? I HIGHLY recommend JL. They have been servicing my commercial building for several years now and I’ve grown a really trust and appreciate them. I know you will not be sad if you choose this company.
