Edit to respond to Acculevel: Acculevel has already sent people to my house six times, and I've responded that it is clear they cannot deliver what was promised to me. Another Acculevel technician is no good to me--I need a refund.
If Acculevel recommends weep holes, geochannel drainage, and a sump pump, beware. I was promised a dry crawl space, but it is now no better (and possibly worse) after Acculevel's work than before, and I paid a hefty price for absolutely no overall improvement. One attached photo from March shows water coming in past the geochannel drainage (the dry portion is not an exterior wall and has no weep holes, while the damp portion shows the problem of the weep holes and geochannel drainage letting water past it rather than directing all the water to the sump pump); the other attached photo shows a pool of muddy water below that. They now claim that the pool of muddy water is due to water seeping up from around a pillar, but that was never mentioned to me as a possibility before, and the water absolutely should not be flowing past the geochannel drainage from the weep holes. I was promised a dry crawl space from their work. Acculevel came out several times last year until winter to try and remediate the sorry state of their work after they were supposedly finished the first time, but the new spring rains reveal that their work is still not what they promised or what I paid tons of money for. Furthermore, if the power goes out in the middle of the night, the backup battery blasts an alarm, and I have to get up, go down in the crawl space, and turn it off before I can go back to sleep. Acculevel has made my life so much worse. If the system actually worked and kept my crawl space dry as was promised, I wouldn't mind, but it really adds insult to injury.
Also, my Sales Rep asked me to write a 5-star review after providing the estimate, saying his bonus is calculated from 5-star reviews. You can see other 5-star ratings naming their Sales Rep who provided the estimate because people want to be nice and help out, and it inflates the company's rating. Of course, my Sales Rep was very nice and promised me the world while providing me the estimate, but I wish I had never hired Acculevel, given the awful results and wasted money.
If Acculevel refunded me my money, I would have a higher opinion of them, but from the terrible result of this project I've paid so much for, I absolutely do not recommend hiring them.

I've been a property manager of about 600 places for over 25 years, so l've seen my share of foundation issues and dealt with many companies. I have to say that the detail and knowledge that Greg Backus brings to his customers is extremely exceptional. I met Greg about 7 years ago, when I was bidding out to Acculevel along with 2 other well named companies. His expertise and detail on the job, was what won me over. His report was spot on with what the structural engineer advised, and Acculevel's pricing was very fair and comparable. I gained even more confidence in Greg and Acculevel when I bid them out for my own personal home. Greg has always
been extremely thorough, efficient and honest in his findings with what he thought I should or shouldn't do for repairs in question. I would 100% recommend Greg Backus with Acculevel on any job!

How do I know if my basement needs waterproofing in [address.city]]?
Look for signs like water intrusion, leaks, dampness, musty odors, efflorescence (white powdery residue on walls), mold/mildew growth, or high humidity. Untreated water issues can weaken your home's structure, cause health concerns, and lead to costly damage. A free inspection can confirm if waterproofing is needed.
What are the signs of crawl space problems?
Typical signs include sagging or uneven floors, musty odors, visible mold/mildew, high humidity, pest activity, poor air quality, or gaps between walls and floors. Moisture in the crawl space can lead to wood rot, mold growth, and foundation issues—addressing it early prevents bigger problems.
What causes sunken or uneven concrete slabs, and how do you fix them?
Sunken slabs (on driveways, patios, sidewalks, or garage floors) are usually caused by soil erosion, excess moisture, or shifting beneath the concrete, creating voids. Acculevel uses slab jacking with environmentally safe polyurethane foam injection to fill voids, lift, and level the slab—minimally invasive, with patched holes and immediate usability.
How long does a typical repair project take?
Most foundation, basement waterproofing, crawl space, or concrete leveling projects are completed in a few days. The exact timeline depends on the severity of the issue, the type of repair, and site access. We'll provide a clear estimate during your free consultation.
Will the repair process disrupt my home or daily life?
We minimize disruption as much as possible—many repairs (like push piers or exterior anchors) are done from outside, and crews work efficiently while respecting your property. The site is left clean after completion, and you typically don't need to move out.
What repair methods does Acculevel use for foundation problems?
We offer permanent solutions including push piers and helical piers for settlement, wall anchors or tiebacks for bowing/cracked walls, carbon fiber straps for reinforcement, and other targeted methods. Each is chosen based on your home's specific needs for long-term stability.
Do you offer financing options?
Yes—we partner with leading financing providers so you can address repairs now and pay over time with flexible plans. Ask about low monthly payment options during your free inspection (subject to approved credit and terms).
What warranties do your services come with?
All Acculevel repairs are backed by the best warranties in the industry, providing long-term peace of mind on solutions like piers, anchors, waterproofing systems, and more.
What is the first step to getting help with foundation, basement, or crawl space issues?
Start with a free, no-obligation on-site inspection. Our experienced team will evaluate the problem, provide an honest diagnosis, and deliver a custom repair plan with pricing and financing options. No pressure—just clear answers to protect your home.
What are the common signs that I need foundation repair in Indianapolis?
Common indicators include cracks in walls or floors, sticking doors or windows, uneven or sloping floors, gaps at trim or cabinets, and leaning chimneys. These issues often stem from foundation settlement or soil problems. If you notice any of these, schedule a free inspection for an honest diagnosis and recommended solution.
