  Gen 3 was knowledgeable and professional, and overall they made the process of building our home a pleasant experience. However, we chose Gen 3 expecting a superior finished product and without quality issues. In many ways they delivered, but we encountered a number of issues post move-in, some of which we believe no builder should have allowed to occur. Gen 3 was swift to respond and address most of these problems, but we were kept busy addressing others one by one over the first year (in fairness, many were manufacturer defects). Most notably, there were a number of exterior brick work and brick quality problems, including improperly installed sills, inconsistent mortar finish, and ongoing signs of moisture, the latter two of which Gen 3 and the brick manufacturer did not satisfactorily address. The most permanent and significant quality issue is what we believe is an unacceptably poor exterior finish that is sub-par and well below the quality of neighboring homes. A full brick home is an expensive investment and should have been completed to a level of quality and finish that met or exceeded a basic standard that this fails to meet. We believed that we would have Gen 3's support all the way to a satisfactory outcome and that they wouldn't want their name on work like this, but when we expressed our concern with these very obvious appearance issues, Gen 3's response was that the home is "beautiful" and discontinued any further support on the issue.

  John Elpers Homes built my dream home for me. Everything turned out amazing and anything I needed during the process they were quick to act on. I would recommend to anyone looking to build a home.

  Our experience with Elper’s Construction (John/Jonathan) was unprecedented. • They were here every day and did a lot of the work themselves • Suppliers and sub-contractors had to produce to the Elper’s quality/reputation • Building process ran very smoothly with the hands-on approach of the whole Elper’s team • The Elpers' daily supervision kept the project on task—we were told 5 months for a 3,250 sq. ft. house and it was delivered---on time, on budget and superior quality. • Can’t say enough!!! Their work ethic is second to none. 8 years later, we remain totally satisfied with our home building project and would recommend Elpers to anyone. Larry and Carolyn Zimmer

  To think we were just getting ideas to build a home when we stumbled upon our present home. From what we’ve heard in the past about John Elpers homes, our expectations were pretty high. Well we put an offer in that evening. I swear he uses every bit of space on the foundation. The quality and craftsmanship is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. His office staff was unbelievable and very organized. If you are in the market to build or even buy a home already built, please look at one of his homes and compare the difference! Thank you
