Alpha Storm Solutions provides roofing, roofing repair, siding, soffits, fascia, and gutter services to the Somonauk, IL; Peoria, IL; and Hobart, IN areas.
Doug and Bradley showed up on May 14, 2025 because they saw some storm damage on our roof from the street. They were saying that our whole roof needed replacement. I was dubious, but we filed a claim with our insurance anyway while the Alpha reps were there. Doug was disappointed when he found out that our assigned agent wasn't someone that he knew that would "play ball" when it came to accepting claims.
Welp, the claim took about 6 weeks with Bradley calling or texting me every few days to ask the status. It was only approved to fix the actual area that was damaged (womp womp).
After not hearing from them for about a week Doug called back and said that they were going to try to approach the insurance company in a different way to see if they could get the entire roof replaced.
About 2 or 3 weeks later Doug made an appointment with us and made no mention of trying to fight the insurance on the claim. Instead, we signed paperwork with Doug to have them do our small repair, and he took some of our old, fallen tiles to make sure they could color match them.
About 10 days later I got a call from a different rep (I did not get a name, but it was neither Bradley nor Doug) stating that I need to sign paperwork to begin work. I said we'd already signed everything, the caller sounded frustrated by this and said they'd call back ASAP.
A month AFTER that I called and was told they'll be in touch, they've just been too busy to get to our house. They promised to call back in a week.
Radio silence since then, even after I left a message asking if they could just be honest and tell me if they don't want the job so I could find someone else. (I'll admit I was pretty snarky when I left that message...)
The first line on their 'about' page reads, "There is no job that is too large or too small for Alpha Storm Solutions." I don't find that claim to be credible, seeing as it's November 26th, and I still just have tarp on the roof.

This was beyond an infuriating experience without question. To give you an idea, let us start from the beginning. In May there was a rather large hailstorm in my area which left my siding looking shredded. I contacted Alpha Storm Solutions. I gotta tell you that their salesmen ship is top notch... I am talking used car salesmen, the ones that wear a fancy suit and talk like they know everything. After they had me sign a letter of intent, it went downhill very fast. I mean they had at least three homes I know of in my area and they had those done within 2 months.
In September they finally said that they were going to do the work on my house. The shingles I asked for were bought from my workplace and those take 3 weeks. So I don't know how it became 4 months. Then they were like yeah I forgot to have you sign something else. They then demanded all the money that the insurance company paid me without a good explanation. In my line of work, I know contractors and they get paid almost always after the job. So that confused me. I asked them to let me know well before they came to work on my house to let me know because I wanted to be there. They didn't and about three days before, they finally told me the people will be there for my roof.
Luckily, I was there. Let me tell you, it felt like a horror story. The people pulled into my driveway and into my grass without asking. Then they were not careful with anything that they were doing. At one point the air hoses were hanging over my power lines on their lunch. I asked the worker if they could be gentle and get the air hose off my power line. He looked up from his game or video, I don't know which and was like yeah we will do it and then went back on his phone. Meanwhile, my yard has been trashed, my bushes stomped on garbage everywhere.
Then the nicest people came a week later... Again no notice. Luckily I was home... I told them they could park in my driveway and him and his wife were the best people ever. That is until the end when they started working on the siding and I was like the wood grain doesn't match. No one had answers. The salesman was like I gotta check. Then it was no they couldn't get the correct siding and they weren't going to do the job. I hired someone else that day.
Then a few days later, it was yeah they can get it. I told them that I found it already in stock somewhere else and I already hired someone. A few days later they came to do the gutters and unfortunately I wasn't there but I saw the result. It was less than impressive. Let me put it this way, I am still finding pieces of gutter in my yard... At least with the insufferable roofers they cleaned up after themselves.
Finally we get to now, where I am about to pay them. I was confused on the billing and texted the salesman frustrated. The manager called and like a very bilegerant person he said no, we are correct and we need the money now. I work as a manager and I never treat people like that. A good manager would have said, what seems to be the issue? Can we make the time to go over the bill and I can remedy any concerns you may have.
Again, very disrespectful, unsolvable, overly exasperating and beyond infuriating experience. Not to mention on the bill they are charging me over $700 for my half of the shed and my insurance who is also paying for the hip and ridge is just over $500. I refuse to give bad reviews... Just look at my profile about 85 percent is good reviews. But, I cannot in good conscience ever recommend anyone to ever go through this experience. Hell, I will take my 4 hour oil change at Walmart where they dented my door over this situation. Their GM was at least trying to be understanding. I will even take any of the contractors over this experience. I mean I will even deal with the person who threatened me over a game over this. I will take the 100 times that my sandwich was made incorrectly at any fast food res. and even the one time we found a fried mouse in our food over this...

I was told they would come out and do an estimate on damage to my house . I dont know if they ever went because after at least 3 or 4 calls to them I was never called back and never even got an answer as to whether they could do the repairs. Very unprofessional and bad customer service.

What an awesome experience. Jack McClernon was amazing and walked me thru the whole process. His team of roofers did a quick and efficient job and their attention to detail when cleaning up was much appreciated.
