  If you are looking for a restoration, remodel or update to your kitchen and bath, look no further than Tub Hub in Skokie. The owner, Bonnie, has a small but mighty showroom. She is quick with many ideas to inspire, has plenty of options in materials to choose from and their prices are fair and competitive. I hired Tub Hub to do a gut renovation of my bathroom and the end result is beautiful - I couldn’t be happier. My neighbors have worked with Bonnie & Tub Hub on both kitchen and bath remodels that they love. Once her company starts the job, Bonnie stops by daily to make sure the job is moving as it should - she is on top of EVERYTHING. Her work ethic is superior as is the finished product. Bonnie and her team are easy to work with and she clearly takes pride in her work. I could not recommend working with Tub Hub and Bonnie more highly!

  BEWARE! I am not one for long reviews and not one to throw around negative reviews, especially for a small business, but our experience was so negative that it feels irresponsible to not warn others. Time and budget - While we understand that there are many unknowns in older homes, 4 x over time and 50% over budget from a contractor with over two decades of experience in the area seems highly unusual. Rather than the estimated 3 weeks a small hall bath took 12.5 weeks. The timing would have been acceptable if we received excellent work, but we didn’t: --New plumbing was initially poorly installed and leaked through to our kitchen ceiling --Bonnie insisted on us selecting a vanity where she would make a customer countertop only to have the installation be completely crooked. She took no responsibility and made no effort to correct the issue. We are now stuck with this as a reminder of this awful experience. As you can see in the photo, it’s shoddy work. —Door threshold was supposed to be wood, instead cheap metal was installed and it took weeks of constant prodding to get Bonnie to have someone make the simple, 20 minute change to wood. --Much more minor, the light switch cover in our hallway was left missing so we had exposed wires when they were "done" - talk about polished and professional… Perhaps most frustrating was the constant last minute communication and late night text messages. Everything felt adhoc, disorganized, and like we were her last priority. At times it felt like we were begging her to finish the job. Days and weeks would go by and no progress was made, and then all of a sudden someone would just show up to do some work without notice. In addition to all of the above, we later found out when we asked Bonnie for a kitchen estimate that she was gouging us. We confirmed this by checking in with a friend who had similar work done in a house of similar age for 50% of the estimated cost she provided for our kitchen. In a space filled with small businesses, take your business elsewhere. It is a shame and embarrassment to all women that Bonnie emphasizes that she is women owned. She is unprofessional, disorganized, and most critically, dishonest. UPDATE - Our bathroom was completed 14 months ago and we now have to replace a valve that was poorly installed and never corrected. We received no response from Bonnie when asked if she’d make this right.

  Enjoyed working with Bonnie. She coordinated the work around my schedule and there was good communication between us. The crew of installers were professional and did quality work. I would use this company again.

  We had our bathtub refinished by Tub Hub and Tile in Oct. 2013. THEY DID A BAD JOB AND THE PAINT STARTED PEELING UP ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. They tried to blame their poor work on us and did not honor their warranty. Do not do business with this company as they are overpriced,. do bad work, do not honor their warranty and are difficult to deal with. Do your home work and check their reviews on Yelp(click on not recommended) and the Better Business Bureau( F rating.) I wish we had.
