  Patrick V. is the man!!! We recently rented flooring equipment from Sunbelt to polish some concrete floors in our showroom and ran into a few issues. Patrick helped us diagnosis the problems we were having and was extremely generous with his time. Thank you so much Patrick!!!

  We called Sunbelt to get a machine to help remove 7,500sqft of tile. We spoke to the manger Christine Selick. We explained EXACTLY what we would be using the machine for and she said without hesitation that they have equipment to handle this. She sent us a Blastpro BRB-1500. We tested an area of the floor immediately and the machine didn’t work. We tried every attachment and only some very small chips of tile would break up. The machine would also shut down and need to be restarted after each time it was driven into the tile. They came right back and picked it up. We then went to Sunbelt and Steve Brunner, the salesman, called the manufacturer and the manufacturer said this model was not made for taking up tile, it’s for vinyl tiles and carpets. You’d think the manager would know this. We asked Sunbelt if they had a better machine and they said they did, but wasn’t available for about 3 weeks. We waited the 3 weeks and wanted to make sure this new model (Blastpro BRB-3100) would work so we asked to have the delivery guy wait until we tested it. Sunbelt decided to send the delivery driver (Dave), the salesman (Steve) and 2 other guys on a Tuesday to test it, though we wanted to rent it for a week starting on Friday. We tested an area and it worked well enough that we’d be able to use it, or so we thought. Steve wanted to leave it, but said we’d have to be charged for it and why would we pay for 4 days that we can’t use it. They took it back and re-delivered it on Friday. (WE FOUND OUT LATER THAT WE WERE CHARGED FOR THAT TUESDAY VISIT TO TEST THE MACHINE, THOUGH NOBODY TOLD US BEFORHAND OR WHILE THEY WERE THERE. THEY JUST BILLED US LATER. WE COULD’VE TESTED IT FRIDAY) The first night (Saturday) we weren’t even 2 hours into the job and the machine breaks. The cable in one of the arms snapped. We had a large section of floor torn up already and planned on scraping the thinset off with another blade attachment. Now at midnight Saturday night, we had to go to a far away 24hr Home Depot to rent a demo hammer and floor grinder to remove the thinset so that the hallway can be opened to the public on Sunday. This took 2 guys about 11hrs to do since we couldn’t get a heavy-duty grinder. We called Sunbelt first thing Sunday and the only person we could ever get ahold of throughout this entire mess was Dave the delivery driver. He answered every call and was beyond helpful. He contacted whomever and had a part overnighted. Fast forward to Tuesday, they come out to repair the machine. Tuesday night we start work again and this time after about 1.5 hrs the machine starts to give us problems. It won’t go in reverse and is not breaking the tile up like it originally did. Shortly after the battery fully dies. When the 4 guys came out to test the machine, we were told it had a MINIMUM of 4-6hrs of use until it had to be charged. Even on the Blastpro website says, “ability to operate up to 8 to 10 hours on a single charge”. The following morning, we called Sunbelt to complain. The repair guy came out and said there could possibly be an issue with the batteries, but he’d have to pull them and test them and if they had to order new ones it would cost around $3k and wouldn’t make much sense to spend that kind of money from their shop. Kevin said that this machine isn’t what we should be using for this floor, that it was weak. They have a National machine at the shop that would do the job, but it’s in need of repair and won’t be ready for some time. They took the machine back that same day. We now get charged $1,283.50 on our credit card. We call and demand an invoice. Christine sends over a bunch of invoices with credits and charges galore. Then tells us we were charged delivery to come out and test it, when they were the ones who asked to come out on a Tuesday and we said we don’t need it until Friday. It has costed more money that we expected due to not having a machine to assist with the demo. But somehow Christine thinks I should pay $1,283.50
