We recently had our generator tuned up by Adams. Our technician was friendly and helpful and we didn’t even need to be home for the service. I would highly recommend them!

Adam’s Power has taken over for Baker Electric to perform an annual maintenance for generators that I own at two separate properties, both in Morris. The work was done on January 14 and 15. I received a text the day each were to be maintained. I have since received an invoice for one but not the other. I called to see where the second invoice was and was told that the second generator had a note indicating that a “motor and circuit board were needed so I was transferred to another department. The next department confirmed the “note” and said someone would be calling me to discuss. Stay tuned…
I did have a question about when each generator was scheduled to be “exercised” each week, but no one seemed to be able to tell me the answer. One generator is at a rental property and I wanted to alert the tenant when to expect the unit to be “exercised” without the tenant becoming concerned. Stay tuned and that one as well…
Big company with not sufficient attention to detail.

I have a 4 year old Generac that won’t start when the temperature falls to 0 degrees. It will start back up when temp rises. After a 6 day wait for service the tech told me there was nothing she could do to rectify the problem code 1100 overcranking. Online they indicate it might be a regulator problem not supplying enough natural gas when the temperature falls. My tech dismissed that as not a possibility. She said she did have an attachment to warm the oil and another to warm the battery but dismissed both of them as being able to he . I insisted on the oil warmer to at least have some hope that this $10,000 investment just might kick on when I do need it.
Update:
I was contacted by Adam’s immediately last night and after discussing my case it was decided they would go over my case on Monday morning with a couìple of their techs and get back to me. They wanted to make sure my concerns were addressed. Then this morning, with the temperature at 2 degrees, I ran my Generac through an exercise and it started on the third cycle after pausing twice.

I didn’t make this purchase for the right to get service a week later only to be told it wasn’t going to work on the coldest days!
