We replaced our 17-year-old Carrier furnace with another Carrier furnace and have a WIFI thermostat installed. Everyone from the front desk to the techs who came out were all very courteous, kind, professional.
Pictures shown are of the old furnace, the new furnace with some of the original equipment left (Humidifier, condensation pump, etc.)
Backstory:
I found Comfort Zone Service through Carrier's list of recommended companies in my area. Our furnace's inducer motor started making a squealing sound Friday night, so I called and set up an appointment for the next morning.
I received a confirmation call that morning and one of their HVAC techs was at our house within a couple of hours. I let the tech know about the issue, but it had stopped making the sound. He thoroughly looked over everything and gave us an estimate for repairing vs replacing.
Due to the age of the unit and the cost difference between a repair vs replacement, I agreed with his recommendation that the furnace should be replaced.
I also opted to have our current Honeywell RTH7560E thermostat replaced with an Ecobee Lite thermostat. Since we did not have the C wire available and I was not familiar with how to hook up the wire adapter to the new thermostat, I was fine with paying extra for this service.
The new thermostat has no battery but instead runs off the power from the furnace. This is nice since I have had thermosets that gave a very short low battery warning before dying or the batteries leaked and ruined the device.
Previous experience with a DIFFERENT HVAC company:
Prior to purchasing our current house, we had rented a house for a few years which had a 20+ year old Carrier furnace that shared the same fate as our previous furnace did. The landlords replaced the inducer motor themselves and about a year later hired an independent HVAC tech whom installed an EVCON branded furnace. Shortly after he left, the furnace shutdown while in the middle of heating the house. A few minutes later it came on, ran for a bit, then shut down again.
I called the HVAC tech and told him what was happening. He asked me to tell him what the blinking light pattern was since it was throwing an error code. He said to wait and call him back if the issue still continued. It did and I called him back. He ended up arguing with me that it was fine. The next day we called the landlords, to which they called him and he came back out. The company owner discovered that something was wired incorrectly so he increased the fan speed which stopped the unit from shutting down, but also made the furnace much louder.
He later came back out in the spring to get the AC unit active. We had issues due to the air only being lukewarm. He came out over the course of several visits.
- He added more freon.
- Second visit thought there was leak in the system, so he added dye, but never came back to check if it was leaking.
- Third time he used a digital gauge this time and saw the freon was still low. He mentioned that he was considering putting on lock caps because allegedly freon theft happens. I told him that no one is stealing freon and I for one would just like a working system.
- A couple years later, the capacitor in unit blew, but fortunately his son came out and promptly replaced it.
In contrast, my experience was a 100 times better with Comfort Zone!

I am a big Fan (haha)
My blower wheel was out of balance and had been shaking my house a bit. I wish I could remember the names of the first two techs that came out to confirm the issue, but they were fast on time, all that good stuff. They quoted the part , cost and quickly scheduled The next tech I dealt with which was Josh. He was also on time excellent and fast. He double checked everything and made sure it was right. The mailer came just when I needed it. Thanks all!

Chad knows his trade. He prioritized our request and made sure we understood the issues with our furnaces. He got us up and running quickly and provided recommendations for the long term. We trust him and will hire him again.
