I asked for an estimate on a 30 gallon gas water heater, stating specifically that I needed the least costly option, plus, just to compare, the least costly electric option. They gave me instead 10 estimates ranging from $10,894.99 for high-end electric to $1727.08 gas with me suppling my own tank. None of their estimates was for the 30 gallon tank I asked for (all 40 gall). Another plumber I’ve used before and who does excellent work gave me exactly what I asked for: one estimate for a 30 gallon gas tank and install, and it came in below Baker’s above cheapest estimate. The whole experience felt like an upsell sales call, with little listening or actual helpfulness on the spot. Will not be calling again.

Baker & Sons has consistently provided phenomenal customer service from the day we called them about a new septic system a few years ago, to today when Jason S. came out to do our routine inspection. Jason was kind, patient, and thorough in his explanations of what our system looked like, how the parts functioned and their condition, as well as advice on future maintenance for the system! We've been very pleased with their services!

Thank you to all at Bakers Plumbing for fixing a leak in my outdoor water line. JP Taylor found leak and sold us offering 4 different choices on fixing the leak. Jesse Parks, and Austin Hampton came and did repairs. Richard a supervisor came by and over saw the project. All were gentlemen and professional. The repair went as expected and work was done quick and efficient. I have used Bakers for many years never a complaint about any work done. I highly recommend them for any plumbing problems. Words to live by, " save money by living under your means so you can pay for repairs when you get older." GOD BLESS ALL Y'ALL! Sammy Brown

Justin and the entire team at Baker and Sons were so prompt and efficient. After making the initial after hours call (7pm on a Friday night) when we came home to a septic alarm going off, I received a quick call back from Josh. He coordinated Justin to come out on a Saturday morning and take a look. Justin arrived right on time and quickly diagnosed the issue. He proceeded to get the septic system up and rolling (so laundry and showers could continue) and let me know the plan to finalize the remediation. One thing that really sticks out is the amazing communication. The text and emails let you know exactly what was happening and when it was happening. If you are in the southern Illinois area I highly recommend Baker & Sons.

First try they didn’t install dishwasher correctly. But they came back out next morning and totally reinstalled it and explained how the mistake had happened day before. The technician was very nice and worked hard to correct mistake from previous day. It was a new dishwasher in an 1970’s house so everything had to be replumbed. It was also top line Bosch dishwasher ( excellent product) but a little more complicated to install and they didn’t realize this on first try and just installed it without looking at installation booklet. My guess is that just like putting a key in a car if you’ve done it a thousand times you don’t have to read manual for new car…but times are a-changing and the new car might not have key. Likewise this new dishwasher was more complicated especially in an older home. But, technician bbwas excellent.
