- JSJohn SalazarDec 18, 20251.0I have a rheem water heater that was sounding an alarm. I got their number from the Rheem website. I called them needing a sensor replaced (rheem sent me the part for free) and I needed an electronic annode rod installed (I supplied the part) The tech was very polite and professional and spent about 90 minutes here, most of that time on the phone with rheem figuring out where the part went. When he was Done he informed me that he did not have a socket extension long enough to install the annode rod and would have to reschedule. The charge to install the sensor was $518. A few days later they called to schedule the annode rod installation. I asked if she could give me a cost to do it and she said normally it would be $495 but that they would use a coupon to get it to $445. So almost a thousand dollars to install 2 parts that they didn't even need to supply? That's crazy!
