  We had a small carpeting project and collected quotes from several companies, including Home Depot. DeSitter offered a comparable quote, higher-quality carpet, and—most importantly—excellent communication. From start to finish, DeSitter exceeded our expectations. They worked within our budget, responded promptly via email, text, and phone, and their installation team arrived right on time. Kelly, Paul, and Julie were all amazing to work with! And the installers were efficient, extremely professional, and left our space spotless. The finished carpet looks fantastic! We truly appreciate DeSitter taking on a smaller job and handling it with such care. Supporting a locally owned business with such a dedicated team is a pleasure. We highly recommend DeSitter Flooring to anyone!

  I would not recommend or ever use desitter again. They left sanding marks on the floor and did a horrible job putting on our polyurethane and had to come back to redo it. In addition, the threshold they used to transition from one room to the other was very poorly done. They did an unacceptable job! Stay away.

  We got a few estimates on having carpet replaced in our 300 square foot lower level and LVP installed in our 50 square foot bathroom. We eventually chose DeSitter because of their reputation around town (and the reviews). It was an awful experience. We went through their "Home" department--where they come to you with samples, etc. to save you having to go to the showroom. The sales person bungled nearly every aspect of the process. He had trouble using the company tablet, and so couldn't give us an accurate estimate on the bathroom floor (first it was $3000 then $1800...we finally just decided to do that part ourselves). He was never clear on which carpets were "in stock" and which had to be "ordered," so we couldn't get an accurate timeline for installation. At one point he lost track of which carpet we wanted. He also told us the cost would be reduced if we removed the old carpet/pad ourselves (it wasn't). (We found out later that this salesperson was no long employed at DeSitter within a week or so of our installation.) Despite all these issues and miscommunications, we stuck with it because we were certain the installation would be flawless. It wasn't. The installers didn't install any transition strip between the newly carpeted area and the bathroom floor (even though we were explicit with the sales person that we wanted a transition strip). I eventually had to install one myself (a bit of a pain on a concrete floor). I also had to cut the bathroom door myself just to get it to close. (I was later told that DeSitter doesn't adjust door heights to accommodate new carpet.) And, worst of all, the carpet they installed on the stairs was cut badly--it was too narrow and the stair tread was visible on the sides. So, they had to come back to stretch the carpet and re-tack it. Still doesn't look great, but it's good enough, and I'm tired of dealing with this company. At every stage of the process, I was made to think/feel that the issues I was complaining about (the uncertainty about the installation date, the transition strip, the door not closing, the miscommunication about saving money if I did the carpet removal) were either no big deal or actually my fault. The last communication I had with them (it was with the replacement sales person) was that they would have someone get back to me about potentially reducing the cost based on the fact that I removed the old carpet. Never happened. No follow up. Bottom line: we took up the old carpet and pad and received no discount (as we were told we would). The carpet itself is nice, but the installation (no transition strip, not a great job on the stairs) left a lot to be desired. And the overall customer service and communication was terrible. We won't use DeSitter again.
