While I knew I wasn’t required to use them, it seemed like the easiest option at the time. To be fair, they were great in the beginning — they responded quickly and aired everything out within days. But after that, everything came to a standstill. I was initially told it would take about two weeks to get everything approved and begin restoration. I understood there might be delays due to insurance, but I was shocked when months passed and nothing had started — all while I had massive holes in my ceiling and was living in a construction zone. They kept blaming my insurance company for the delays, but I was copied on all the emails and saw firsthand that it was Ben from First Onsite who wasn’t sending the necessary information. I constantly had to follow up and remind him to respond. At times it took several phone calls just to get a simple reply. It was exhausting. When the restoration finally began, the lack of communication continued. The project manager showed up on day one and told me he’d be back in a few hours — and I never saw him again. No one provided a clear schedule or timeline, despite my repeated requests. I was told by multiple people at First Onsite that the job was small and would only take a few hours per day over three days. Based on that, I made arrangements — only to find out they’d be working full days for four straight days. That might have been fine if someone had just communicated that to me, but instead, I was left completely in the dark. Overall, working with this company was an incredibly frustrating experience. Communication was consistently terrible, and I had to chase them down at every step of the process. I would not recommend First Onsite — especially if you value transparency, responsiveness, and basic professionalism.
