Proven Roofing has been wonderful to work with! They were professional and efficient. From their office staff to the crews doing the work, everyone was great! We are so happy with how our roof/gutters turned out! Plus they did a fantastic job of cleaning up afterwards & protecting our property while doing the work. I would absolutely have them here again & definitely recommend them! Thank you to all who were involved in our job!

Proven Roofing did a phenomenal job installing our new roof and 3 new skylights. We worked with Cody and his communication was excellent. Everything was very transparent, from the initial consult, to the quotes, to the actual install. The quality of work was top notch, and the guys did a great job cleaning up after both days of work. We are very pleased and highly recommend Proven Roofing if you need a new roof or windows.

I called Proven Roofing to inspect and repair as needed the roof of my brother’s house in Chicago. They sent an employee the following day to inspect the roof and sent us pictures of the areas that needed repairs and their charge for doing the job. Since it’s winter in Chicago they waited until the weather was warmer and did the job within two weeks. My brother is very happy with their timely response to this issue and the job performed on his house.
Frequently Asked Questions About Proven Roofing & Construction
How do I know if my roof needs repair or full replacement?
Indicators of roof damage include water leaks, shingles that are missing or curling, areas of sagging, water stains, mold growth, or loss of granules. In the Chicagoland area, the freeze-thaw cycle can cause hidden damage. For a definitive assessment, it's advisable to have a professional inspection conducted.
Do you offer free roof inspections and estimates?
Many reputable roofing companies provide complimentary inspections and estimates, particularly following storm events. These inspections are valuable for early detection of damage, which can prevent more costly repairs in the future.
Are you licensed and insured in Illinois?
This is an important question to ask. A professional roofing contractor in the Chicagoland area should have proper licensing, bonding, and insurance coverage. These credentials protect both homeowners and businesses throughout the roofing process.
How long does a typical roofing project take?
For residential roofs, the process typically takes one to two days. Commercial roofing projects can range from several days to a few weeks, depending on factors such as the size of the roof, the materials used, and weather conditions.
What roofing materials are best for Chicagoland homes?
Common roofing options in the Chicagoland area include architectural asphalt shingles, metal roofing, cedar shake, and synthetic materials. Asphalt shingles are the most widely used due to their durability and cost-effectiveness in midwest weather conditions.
Can you roof during winter in Chicago?
Roofing work can be performed during winter, but with certain limitations. While repairs are generally possible year-round, complete roof replacements are ideally scheduled during spring, summer, or early fall when temperatures are more favorable for installation.
What causes ice dams, and can they be prevented?
Ice dams form when heat escapes through the attic, causing snow to melt and then refreeze at the roof's edge. Prevention methods include proper attic insulation, adequate ventilation, and the installation of ice-and-water shield barriers.
Will my homeowner's insurance cover roof damage?
Homeowner's insurance typically covers damage caused by storms, hail, and wind. However, normal wear and tear is usually not covered. Many roofing companies offer assistance with insurance claims and inspections related to covered damages.
How long does a residential roof last in Illinois?
The lifespan of residential roofs in Illinois varies by material. Asphalt shingles typically last 20 to 30 years, metal roofs can endure for 40 to 70 years, and flat roofs generally last 15 to 30 years, depending on the specific material and maintenance practices.
What types of commercial roofing systems do you install?
For commercial properties, we install a variety of roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, built-up roofing (BUR), and metal roofing solutions. Each system has its own benefits and is suited to different types of commercial structures.
