- CNCasey NicholsFeb 26, 20261.0I was having an issue with my furnace maintaining the temperature on the thermostat. I contacted Pruitt due to the positive social media attention I've seen. The first red flag is that they asked how old my unit was when I scheduled the diagnostic inspection. It's an older unit and I had a feeling they would tell me it's shot without really looking into it and that's exactly what happened. After arriving they almost immediately said the unit had a cracked heat exchanger and I needed to replace both the furnace and air conditioner. We were given a quote of nearly $13,500. I decided to obtain a couple more quotes before moving forward. The second company quoted a cash price of almost $5,000 less for better equipment. The third company didn't feel right about Pruitt leaving my furnace running with a cracked heat exchanger due to leaking carbon monoxide. They came out and inspected the furnace and did not find a cracked heat exchanger but did find a clogged drain line. They cleared that up and my furnace has been running great since. Pruitt charged me $110 and obviously didn't perform a complete diagnostic inspection or they would have found the clog. Because of my experience I cannot recommend this company. If they tell you you need your HVAC system replaced do your due diligance as a home owner and get a second and third opinion. I'm sure glad I did.
