  Defective floors and bad install job, is what others are telling us! Our floors are all separating. Do NOT recommend! We are going to have to have our entire 1st floor floors replaced by another company

  Hired Flooring Guys of Illinois (Aurora) to install carpet in two bedrooms and a bonus room along with solid hardwood floor in a hallway, laundry room and bedroom closet. We tore out all the old carpet in all mentioned areas. Told by Brian installation would take one day. Knew enough to know it would take longer. Took 2.5 days. Ok, no big deal. The final day of installation was a Saturday. Workers seemed to be in a hurry to complete the job. About 8-10 gouges in the closet wall from the wood being installed. A few in the hallway And laundry room also. Some would be expected. Glue on wood floor left after installation. When the 1/4 or shoe was installed after wood installation there a places where the shoe is 1/4” to 1/2” from meeting up to the door trim as expected. Like I said work was completed on a Saturday. We paid half up front and went to the store the next Monday to pay the remainder. Note on the door store was closed. I called the store the next day and talked to Brian the owner. Told him I wanted to pay off the remainder of my bill. No problem but not once did he ask if we were happy with the work completed on our home. I would think he would want to know!!! Another sticking point for me was he never came to check on his workers or their work the 2.5 days they were at our house. We had carpet replaced and wood floor installed on the main floor of our home 6 months earlier but went with The Flooring Guys from a recommendation. Probably not a great decision.

  Poor customer service skills I had two separate dates for installation. On the first date, the installer had a family medical issue. Fair enough, I canceled my meeting the following day and he came to do the first part of the install, except that he didn't have the appropriate nails to do the stairs and he would have to go to Naperville to get the supplies??? I don't know how your main job is carpet and you don't have basic equipment like stair nails knowing that was the job you were doing that day. But I was kind enough to say he could do the stairs when he came to do the master bedroom. Then, today, two weeks later I call the store at 830am because the installer hasn't arrived and I haven't heard anything. He says he hasn't seem him and was just calling him. I very specifically said, please keep me posted. An hour later - nothing. I call again, get the voice mail.
