We scheduled a diagnostic visit because our furnace stopped working and we suspected a condensate pump issue. The technician did a full walkthrough, but the appointment quickly turned into a heavy upsell for an entirely new furnace rather than focusing on the immediate, minimal repair we repeatedly asked for. When I mentioned I had done some research and thought the condensate pump was the likely problem (which later turned out to be correct), the technician became noticeably defensive and awkward. We were very clear that we wanted the bare minimum fix to restore heat for our family, but it felt like that wasn’t the priority. We were also told they “don’t do” any cleaning or temporary troubleshooting — only full replacement — and the tone came across annoyed rather than helpful. To make things worse, the technician left our crawlspace door open and the light on when leaving. And no one mentioned that simply draining the condensate pump reservoir could have allowed us to run the heater temporarily while waiting several days for replacement, which we discovered ourselves later. Overall, the experience felt more sales-driven than service-driven, and we were disappointed given how urgent heat issues are in winter.

I had to update my 1star to a 5star. Bill’s reached out, took full ownership of the situation, and made everything right for our family. I truly appreciate how they handled this and their commitment to customer service. I’m back to being a fan. Thank you! I reached out to management today to give them the opportunity to correct a serious issue. I was told I would receive a return call after their 2:00 PM meeting. I have waited all evening and received no response. At this point, the lack of communication is unacceptable. I will be taking further steps to ensure this matter is addressed.

I scheduled a tune up of my furnace, thinking that I was getting a good deal with the current special that Bills is running. Instead, I was told by the technician that my 3 year old furnace needed close to $2000 worth of repairs. I got a second option by a different company and it turns out my furnace is functioning well and does not need any repairs or cleaning. However, a hose was found to be disconnected that either the technician forgot to reconnect or possibly intentionally left disconnected to cause repairs to be needed in the future. It is clear that the pictures I was shown of the “damage” to my furnace were of a different unit. I am incredibly disappointed that Bill’s and the technician attempted to scam me out of multiple thousands of dollars! This is unacceptable.

Logan came and my Ruud gas furnace had not been working proerly for several days. It would sometimes come on and then would not come back on. When Logan got here it was working, making it extremely difficult to find the problem. Since there now was no problem. . He checked what he might be causing the problem. Then by going over with me the most common issues that can come and go. He also gave me some tips as to how to care for my entire system. (I am a retired commercial journeyman electrician and pipefitter working on high pressure boilers. But never did any residential gas furnace work) My previous home had an oil furnace that I always maintained. He shut the system down several times and restart it. Each time it worked perfectly Since the system was working he needed to leave. But we exchanged phone numbers in case the problem came back. About 2 hour or so after Logan left the furnace shutdown and wouldn't restart. I called Logan and he was already headed back to Post Falls. Instead of telling me to reschedule he told me what to look for. Then he took the time to go over with me about cleaning the drain water collector that he had told me about while here..I cut the outlet pipe ine so I could remove the collector. Cleaned the collector and put it back together and the furnace worked fine. That is going above and beyond which is why I have been recommending your services to all my friends.

I’ve read quite a few of the reviews for Bill’s Heating Spokane, and while they’re predominantly quite positive, my experience was not. It’s important to note my experience is reflective of their customer care, not their technical expertise. Several years ago, their tech came by to evaluate my AC compressor. The process was uneventful, and the tech indicated no service was needed. I was given no invoice, nor did I receive one for the next several months. Having used them before when services were needed, I assumed in this instance they weren’t charging me, which seemed unusually generous. In previous service calls, I cannot remember if I paid them immediately or if they billed me. Several months later, I received a letter from a collection agency indicating I owed Bill’s Heating for non-payment of that service call. When I contacted Bill’s, I spoke to a very pleasant woman who was struggling to explain their process whereby they ultimately turned my account over to collections. I explained to Bill’s I had never received a bill from them, nor a phone call. I was informed they had sent several bills via emails. I asked them what email address they used; they had misspelled the email address, which raised the following question: if the email was misspelled, it seeded they would get an undelivered message, which would in turn seem to trigger some effort on their part to correctly contact me…yes? The woman indicated there had been some office difficulties/turnover; perhaps that was the problem. In any event, I promptly paid the overdue bill (and interest) to the collection agency. I also sent a certified letter to the owner of the business, delineating my experience; I never received any response. My overall impression was one of owner non-concern and sub-standard office procedures. While I wouldn’t comment on their technical skills, I would strongly suggest prospective customers look elsewhere for their HVAC needs…
