Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! I've been to JAG a dozen times in the 25 years I've lived in the valley and never been treated so poorly. In fact I rent tools all the time from various rental companies and never been treated to poorly. I much prefer Tates Rents, those guys are always professional and courteous. Showed up at 11:30ish, and had to take a phone call so parked in parking lot, one of the employees standing around in the yard came over and stood at my window, while I was in the phone, he stood there until I rolled my window down, and started to talk to me about why I was there...while I was still on the phone, just strange and inconsiderate. I also noticed that the yard was empty, no other customers and 8-10 ucart trailers lined up. Granted I hadn't been there in 5 years or so, usually its a busy place, I was even concerned that maybe all the concrete carts would be rented. I didn't make a whole lot of it at the time. Rented a ucart concrete trailer and the auger died sometime before I got to the jobsite so concrete was setting up. Was able to restart the engine for a few minutes but it cut out again and wouldn't start, plenty of gas. Tried starting, believe me when I say I know small engines, I just didn't have time to mess with it cause had to hurry and get it out while I could. We even had to get in the trailer to shovel the concrete out because it wouldn't dump without the engine on and hydrolics. We cleaned it best we could without dumping ability, filled a garbage can with the waste. Obviously tried starting it again, but no luck. I decided to send my son back to JAG ealry with the trailer, so they could get the engine working and properly clean it before concrete was set up, while I worked on the concrete myself. 3 hours from time I picked it up to the time we dropped it back off, it was a cool day so would still be easy to spray and brush clean. HERE IS DEAL KILLER: My son called and said, "they are going to charge a cleaning fee". He said that he explained the situation and they didn't care so I asked him to have them call me. Drew called and immediately said "we are going to charge a cleaning fee man." I wash so shocked, he obviously didn't get the full story about the trouble we had gone through with their equipment.. After explaining it again he said "it doesn't matter, its in the contract, you should have called us and told us you were having issues." I told him that I know how to run small engines and that we did one better, we brought it back early instead of wasting time calling. I was simply shocked that we were evening having this conversation. I even thought that they would appreciate the extra effort we made and may even offer to give us a credit due to the equipment issues. Never imagined that they would insist on an extra $150 cleaning fee. But it doesn't end there. After I made it clear that I was not paying a cleaning fee and Drew arguing with me more about what it says in the "contract", he said, "there's two ways we can handle this, you pay the cleaning fee or we don't do business again." That was just laughable, I thought to myself, who is this guy, I wonder if the owners know that he is blacklisting customers like this. I gladly agreed never to come back, I had already decided that long before this point. I remembered the empty parking lot and employees standing around, no wonder. Then my son called me and told me the antics that were going on in the store on the other end of the phone. He said that the employee laughed at him when he said "you'll have to call my dad about the cleaning fee". The employee said "you want me to call your dad, lol". And that they were quietly badmouthing both of us while Drew was on the phone with me. Thanks for making it easy to NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH JAG AGAIN. Don't both calling to try to remedy, not interested after this experience. Too many other places to take my business.
