Once they have your money, all customer service ends. Be cautious with this company. They do not take accountability for poor installation issues, and their installation team lacks attention to detail. Their team damaged an area of my home, and then after I paid refused to make good on the repair, despite initially admitting fault and guaranteeing repair. Bell Hardwoods should be a premium company, but they way they treat their customers and the service they provide is the reason for my 1 star. It’s disgusting and un-American. If Bell Hardwoods decides to fix the damage they caused to my home, I will happily change this review to be more positive.

We hired Bell Hardwood Floors for a hardwood flooring installation totaling approximately $26,000. What followed was a complete nightmare. Defective boards were installed throughout the floor. When this was brought to their attention, Bell Hardwood Floors refused to replace the defective material and instead offered to fill visible defects with wax. That is not an acceptable or professional repair and does not correct the problem. During the installation, significant damage was also caused to our kitchen cabinets. At Bell Hardwood Floors’ request, I obtained a written repair estimate from a qualified cabinet refinishing professional. The estimated cost to properly repair the damage is approximately $12,000. After receiving the estimate, the owner, Johnathan, stated the amount was too high and then said they would deny responsibility for the damage entirely, despite admitting he is not an expert in cabinet refinishing. All of this is documented. The estimate came from an actual expert. Refusing to accept professional documentation while disclaiming expertise is not ethical or responsible business behavior. As a disabled veteran, I expected honesty, accountability, and basic professionalism. Instead, I was met with deflection, refusal to stand behind workmanship, and an apparent attempt to avoid responsibility once damage was discovered. I am now left with no option but to pursue legal action. Take your money elsewhere. This company is not worth the headache, the financial risk, or the stress that comes when something goes wrong.

Their workmanship and professionalism are superior. They are punctual. They are pleasant to work with, and we have been pleased with their expertise over the years.

Extremely Disappointed – Poor Product & No Customer Service I strongly advise against working with Bell Hardwood Flooring in Idaho Falls. I purchased and installed Hallmark Alta Vista engineered hardwood through them in 2023, and both the product and the service have been deeply disappointing. First, the flooring has not held up. Dozens of chips appeared during installation—a red flag—and within less than two years, many more have developed. The wood has also developed a dirty-look in the most trafficked areas of the house. For the price and promises about this "premium" engineered hardwood, this flooring should have been far more durable. Second, Bell has visited my home four times regarding these issues, yet no actual repairs have been provided. For example, the product originally used to seal these chips is the wrong color and makes these spots stand out; they need to be redone. Each visit has resulted in empty assurances with no follow-through. Third, I later discovered from Shaun at Bell and a Hallmark representative that the floors must be treated with a special wax-based cleaner to avoid drying, cracking, and dirt settling into the wood. This was never explained during purchase. Instead, I was told to clean with water or water and vinegar, which I did (and it voids the warranty). I was also told by the Hallmark representative that the wire-brushed texture makes the floors more difficult to maintain and less durable—again, a fact that was never explained prior to my purchase. I focused on how we can move forward together to fix what we can and prevent further damage. I worked with Shaun to outline a plan: I would cover the cleaning and resealing (with Hallmark verbally offering a product discount on the resealing product), while Bell would take care of filling the dings and replacing several boards. This work was supposed to take place in spring 2025, yet after multiple follow-ups including coming into their store, there is simply no follow-through. I haven’t received a call back, let alone a cost estimate, in over six months. I have been more than reasonable and patient throughout this process, but my patience is gone. One of the main reasons I chose Bell was their emphasis on warranty and customer service. In reality, the warranty is weak and the service is absent. Bell Hardwood has failed to deliver on their sales-pitch promises.

The Bell Hardwoods staff was professional and answered all our concerns and questions. Jake and Nate arrived on time daily and took the time to make sure work was completed to high standard of quality.
