Our shingles were approaching the end of their life expectancy, so we called Bakeris to discuss our options. Sam measured up the house and garage and walked us through the estimate and contract. The roofing crew was very efficient, knocking out the tear-off, replacement and clean-up in one day. I was thoroughly impressed with the workmanship and attention to the small details.

Bakeris installed a new roof for our home. We had a neighbor who had them do their roof and they were happy. Bakeris gave us an acceptable price and told us they could do the job in one day. They had a large crew that showed up and I can't say enough good things about our experience. I've never seen a crew work with speed and precision like they did. The level of attention paid to details was impressive. We were able to communicate well with them while they were working. They completed removing the existing roof and replace with a new one in about 8 hours which to us was quite impressive. Bryce was the person who sold us the job and he was always available to answer any questions. We were totally comfortable through the whole process. We recommend Bakeris with confidence.

1st let me say that I didn't end up hiring Bakeris but I do believe they would have done a great job. However there were a couple things which led me to do business else where.
The sales guy was pretty push, trying to force a contract on the spot, even wanting me apply for financing then and there.
Another thing is he said that didn't sit right with me was that they didn't do the install themself, they hire it out. I think that contributes to their higher cost. He asked me what I was expecting the price to be, I told him, and he said that's about what material and labor would be.. well what else is there, what's that extra $4,000 you're trying to charge me for?
Lastly cost was another factor. Bakeris was over 40% higher then others. Now, I didn't get quotes from unknown craigslisters. These were licensed and insured roofing companies that have been around and have equally great google reviews.
A roof sells itself, you don't need to pay a salesman salary, commission, and whatever unknow marked up fees they are adding.
Update: In response to their reply about "high-grade materials", the other companies quoted the same Owens Corning shingles, synthetic underlayment, ice guard and venting. So I stand behind my comment about over pricing.

My husband Carl Snyder and I are amazed by the amazing work done by your team 👏 The roof and gutters look excellent and was very professionally done. We would recommend your company to anyone that needs roofing done. Communication was always on point and the explanation of how it was going to be done. Was thinking it would take 3+days to do and was done in about a day 1/2 !!!! Cleanup was 100% nothing left behind and made sure any roofing nails was picked up. Very pleased with the quality of your work. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Do I need to replace the entire roof? Can I repair specific sections?
The decision between repairing specific sections or replacing the entire roof depends on various factors. While repairs can address isolated issues, a full replacement might be more cost-effective for aging roofs or those with widespread damage. Our roofing experts can conduct a thorough inspection to determine the most suitable option for your specific situation.

What steps should I take after severe weather damage to my roof?
After severe weather damage, it's important to contact your insurance company first. Document the damage with photographs, then schedule a professional inspection to assess the extent of the damage. According to Iowa's Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the state experiences numerous severe weather events annually, emphasizing the importance of addressing roof damage quickly.
Is it possible to install a new roof over the existing one? Is a tear-off necessary?
Installing a new roof over an existing one is generally not recommended. This approach often voids the shingle manufacturer's warranty, and most reputable roofing companies avoid this practice as it can compromise their own warranties. With our extensive experience in the industry, we at Bakeris Roofing advise against this method. We prioritize long-lasting, high-quality roofing solutions and would be happy to discuss our recommended installation processes with you.
