(First of all, Dubuque is where we live but that wasn't an option to click on to start this review, so I selected Cedar Rapids as the location) Aaron and his help were very efficient and kept right on going until the job was complete. With a friendly attitude, he made sure we were taken care and all our questions were answered.

Jason Huff did A very professional job putting in a new basement shower. Appears to be medically perfect. Very pleasant to deal with and everything was cleaned up to our satisfaction when he left. I strongly recommend Jason for installation and demo.

Kyanne and Greg C did a phenomenal job on my windows installation! Todd B did a great job answering all my questions and concerns before hand when we ordered windows. And Josh did a great job answering my questions when he can for measurements! Everyone I worked with was great and pleasant, and super helpful! I will definitely be calling them again for my next project!

Brian Kelly, good communication, polite professional, kept me well informed, asked my input re: needs & wants with installation, treated my place with respect and once finished cleaned up area to satisfaction. Would recommend this company to others. Prior to project being started in beginning introduced to all team members that were associated with the remodel shower installation. Last & not least final step, ended by going over paper work summary with me & a chance to ask questions if I had any❣️

Predatory Sales and Subpar Quality
Mad City's process is predatory from start to finish. Three hours of high-pressure sales tactics in my own home, even after I repeatedly stated I needed to discuss the project with my husband, the salesperson insisted I call him on the spot, rather than reschedule. When I wrote about this on their website, they offered an insincere apology about addressing this internally, but it’s clearly a systemic, years-long issue, as evidenced by a multitude of similar complaints.
My shower was installed on 2/12/26 and 2/13/26. I called on the evening of 2/13/26 and left a message regarding my concerns that the shower walls are not square and that there is a dip in the two shower walls, starting about halfway down and continuing to the floor. A call was returned on 2/16/26, and a service technician was scheduled to come to the address to address the concerns on 2/19/26. Mad City Bath processed my full payment while knowing I was completely unsatisfied. Getting a hold of anyone was an exercise in futility. I either had to leave messages with a receptionist or with a general voicemail. I was told by the receptionist that my call would be made urgent and my calls would be addressed. No one had the decency to call me back, so I had to file a merchant dispute with my CC company.
On 2/20/26, the field manager called me back to share that he had reviewed the pictures taken the day prior. His response was insulting. After acknowledging the wave and gaps in the wall, he told me that while it didn't meet my expectations, it met their "standard of error." Let that sink in: Mad City Bath’s official policy is that crooked and wavy is good enough. If you value your money, and want a shower that is actually square and plumb, stay far away from this company. They perform subpar work, hide behind automated phone lines when things go wrong, and will abandon you the moment they have your money. Hire a reputable contractor instead.
* also note that they don’t use cement board behind the acrylic, just warped plywood
