Tire popped on the side of the road. Sunbelt Branch Manager (sorry bro, forgot the name with all that went on) pulled over (he was going the opposite way) and checked on us. Called in Jon to help with security lug nut (no key..) and Jon even went out to get extra tools. Unfortunately we still had to get a tow but these guys went out of their way to assist.

I would have given 5 stars if they would have given me an invoice and receipt. I asked twice at the counter, they were busy at the time so I asked if they would e-mail it to me and I was told yes not a problem. I needed it so I could itemize and get reimburse for the job I used the equipment on. 2 weeks went by I called and left a message I also sent 3 emails requesting and invoice. I got one reply asking for the purchase #. I sent the account # and purchase # twice. Have not heard back my bank card was charged twice on 2 different days with no explanation of the charges. They are friendly and helpful on site but their follow through needs improvement. I’m rather disappointed.

I rented a rough terrain scissor lift. A few days before my rental started, I was notified that the unit I reserved was broken by the previous renter so the manager upgraded me to a larger unit with no additional charge.
I’ve had two technical issues and the technicians came and fixed them the same day. Extremely responsive, prompt, and professional. Great service. I’m very happy so far.

We rented a 15 passenger van for our group. When we picked it up, the van was badly stained & discovered later that the rear vent system was broken. We were able to go to the HIlo side where the Sun Belt mechanic spent extra time to fix the issue (the Hilo side is far superior to the Kona side in nearly every way).
However, when we returned the van, it was deemed to have, "excessive trash inside" and got charged $85. As you can see, there was not excessive trash. I emailed Ceasar, who informed me of the charge, to see about waving the fee due to the van not having excessive trash & possibly make up for renting a vehicle in Hawaii with faulty air conditioning, but did not hear back.
It is disappointing as our group has been renting with Sun Belt (formerly Harpers) since the late 1990's. I recommend taking pictures of your vehicle when you receive it if you choose to rent here.

Is a deposit required for a reservation?
For customers without a line of credit, Sunbelt Rentals does not require a deposit to rent tools and equipment. However, you will be asked for payment information when you make your reservation. Your credit or debit card will not be charged for the rental period (one ((1)) day minimum) until you pick up the equipment.
For Credit Customers, we will secure a deposit for your reservation. This deposit will be held within your account until the rental equipment is returned and the contract closed. Apply for a credit account here.
If your project is quick and you only need the equipment for a few hours, Sunbelt Rentals does offer a Rapid Return rate. Return the equipment within four (4) hours of the pickup time and we will refund the difference of the Rapid Return rate. Rates will vary based on product. What if I need to keep my equipment longer?
If you need assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can extend the rental for you. When you keep the equipment longer, we will add the additional time and charges to your contract and credit card. Please refer to the rental contract, where the day, week and 4-week rates are shown for each piece of tool and equipment.
Can I return rented equipment at any location?
Typically, equipment should be returned to the same location where you initially rented it. If you need to return it to a different location, please contact the store where you rented the equipment for guidance. It’s advisable to call ahead so we can assist you in finding a convenient alternative location for your return. Your convenience is our priority.
What is the cost for the delivery of equipment to my location?
The delivery charge is calculated based on the category and class of equipment, the location of the rental location, the distance of the project site from the rental location.
Can I get tools and equipment delivered to me?
Yes, Sunbelt Rentals offers convenient delivery options from our extensive network of locations for a reasonable fee. When making a reservation, simply select the delivery option. During the reservation process, you can specify the delivery drop-off date and time, as well as your estimated equipment pickup date. The estimate is for our planning purposes and not a final date.
To initiate our equipment pickup service, you must confirm the end of your rental via the app or by phone. Additionally, if you have specific delivery instructions or prefer a designated contact person for coordination, please include those details when submitting your reservation.
For businesses utilizing a commercial credit account, associated delivery and pickup fees will be reflected in your invoice.
To receive notifications about your delivery, adjust your settings in your account to receive reminders and updates related to your delivery and pickup.
What happens if a tool breaks or quits working while I am renting it?
Sunbelt Rentals inspects and services each piece of equipment prior to each rental and should be in good working order. If you experience problems with the tool while renting it, please go to the specific Equipment Detail page within the reservation to request service. If you need additional assistance, please contact the branch of the equipment rental and they can arrange for next steps or a replacement. If you want to have protection in the event of damage, Sunbelt Rentals offers a Rental Protection Plan (RPP), which can be purchased at the start of your rental.
