  I visited the store two days ago and was assisted by a member of staff named Akshai. He was extremely professional, well-spoken, and genuinely helpful throughout my visit. I have been to several Toolstation branches before, but the service at this location was by far the best I have experienced. Akshai was patient, attentive, and took the time to clearly explain which products would be most suitable for my needs. His knowledge and willingness to help made the entire process straightforward and stress-free. It is clear that the manager made an excellent decision in hiring him. Thank you, Akshai, for your outstanding service. I will definitely be returning to this store for any future purchases.

  Always super helpful, friendly staff - special shout out to Hubard (sp?!) and Akshay for staying a little late to help me get some large radiators in my car! You guys are fab! x Updated: shout out to Rob for being super helpful supporting me to quickly find the right heater and help me cancel an online order I didn't need anymore!

  Went in for a plumbing part. Explained to the staff who was very understanding and searched the catalogue. He went around to check few parts and tried all the things he could. Unfortunately couldn't find what I needed but will return for all future purchase.

  Now why would you go to Toolstation? Surly staff, ignorant managers, flaky systems and with an undeserved 'Which' award (third this year behind Richer Sounds and Screwfix - yes Screwfix!). The manager - not the sharpest knife in the drawer - doesn't understand retail law either and would rather hide in the office. Don't bother with 'click and collect' which they claim "saves time at the branch". At Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) you can order stuff online and when you turn up and ring the bell the staff stare right through you and serve someone else. One of the staff had told me that he had taken the battery out of the bell system recently (it wouldn't glow or ring) "three days ago". I waited until a member of staff deigned to serve me and mentioned the non-functioning bell. You'll be lucky to save any time with click and collect at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) - you're ignored by staff; their systems breakdown (they go slow - even getting dire delay warnings online which the staff at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) treat as a joke). You can try and order Ronseal preservative for £4.88 (5 ltrs) on offer and it puts it in your trolley at £6.99. When you point out to staff - and eventually the manager - that they've committed an offence under trading standards (even though they are not obliged to let you have it at the lower price) it's a waste of time telling them. They are ignorant of retail law - (except one woman, wearing a hijab, serving someone else who understood). The manager at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) just hides in his office. So you pop into B&Q and find a larger 12 litres for £10! - much cheaper per litre! Toolstation are owned by Travis Perkins and if you've ever strayed into one of their woodyards their prices will give you a heart attack! Click and collect at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) is a joke - they just ignored my partner when she rang the bell to collect - which now appeared to have a battery installed. When the manager just stared at her at the counter she ducked and dived and followed him to his till and insisted on being served - fed up with being ignored. All this is on her motorbike camera which she forgot to turn off! (She's thinking of uploading it to You Tube!) I wouldn't recommend screw fix opposite but try them - their under one minute collect might work now. Toolstation claim to have your goods ready in 10 minutes - but collection at the desk will take longer - at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way). You'll find faster service; cheaper goods; more polite staff; more reliable systems; and if your lucky they'll have managers who know retail law if you DON'T shop at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way). As for their WHICH award plastered all over their catalogue. Forget it. I'm amazed that Which allow them to desecrate their award system in this way - completely devalued. Third behind screw fix this year and falling. The advantage of going to a B&Q outlet is you don't have ignorant unfriendly and surly staff between you and the goods like you do at Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way). Going elsewhere where they don't have feral staff will cheer you up! (Oh and don't bother phoning up customer services because you are piqued - they promise to phone you back but don't - but that's a whole new unfortunate story!) Oh did I mention that this is a review for Toolstation Croydon Broad Green (Purley Way) branch?
