  We ordered a kitchen through Howdens 2 years ago and it was one of the biggest mistakes I've made so far. Let me paint the picture for you and I hope the quality is better than the paint that adorns my cupboards. Initially Howdens were very helpful. They accommodated multiple tweaks and requests. Nothing seemed too big of an ask and we felt very taken care of. This all changed when we settled on a decision for our new kitchen. From here on, the pressure increased for us to put money down to secure the kitchen. We were called repeatedly and told that there was a 'sale' on that was due to expire very soon. If we didn't put money down, the kitchen cost would become astronomical, unimaginable, unthinkable. The deal was there to be taken but we had to act fast. The problem was, we hadn't even finalised the finishing touches and were nervous about proceeding. A Howdens rep assured us that we could continue to tweak the finishings, and the price would stay the same. This gave us some confidence and we pulled the trigger. This was the beginning of our tale of woe. A few weeks later we finalised the finishing touches. Suddenly, the price increased drastically. We were confused. We had been assured. We had to escalate this to management before it was agreed we could make the changes as agreed without a change to price. This took multiple calls to the office in order to resolve and was not a pleasant experience. I'd love to say that was the end of our review but it is not. Up to now you could chalk this down to a miscommunication and an eager salesperson trying to meet their targets. I regret to say, that this was the tip of the iceberg of incompetence that is Howdens Walkden branch. We excitedly took delivery of our kitchen and waited for installation. Within a few hours, our contractor informed us that the kitchen thay had been so carefully designed, would not fit. The Howdens rep that had measured our kitchen, had failed to account for the pipework behind our boiler. A simple mistake you might think. But it is far more egregious than that. Before delivery, we researched the units proposed, and measured for ourselves. We specifically highlighted concerns about the space available to install the proposed units. Again, we were assured. It had been measured by a professional. Again, we had faith. We shouldn't have had faith. The units did not fit. We tried to contact the Howdens rep who had been so helpful before. Who had moved heaven and earth to make our kitchen fantasies a reality. She was uncontactable. Eventually, we reached her supervisor who assured us the problem would be rectified. Several weeks later we received our new units. A wave of relief flooded over our household. Until we inspected the units. Covered in chips and bubbles, the quality was incredibly poor and we refused the delivery. More time passed. I cannot accurately recall the duration. But I can recall the frustration and that should be all that matters to anyone considering buying a kitchen from Howdens. 2 years in and if you are still reading, buy a kitchen from somewhere else. Not a single cupboard is free from chips and scratches. Our £200 bronze tap is rusted and chipped. Every imperfection a nagging reminder of the poor quality of products supplied by Howdens. 2 years ago we requested 'touch up kits' to hide these imperfections. Again, we were assured. Again, we were let down. To this very day, I am let down. In summary, if you are considering buying a kitchen from Howdens, I would advise you to go deep into your nearest woodland area, find a rotting tree and carve it into something that loosely resembles a kitchen worktop. Scour your local tip and find someone's old kitchen units. Paint those units haphazardly with paint that isn't suitable for wood and it'll be like you've gone to Howdens but you'll still have money left over for a reasonable second hand car.

  Waited and asked for a kitchen design from January, called many times and nothing was done. Another order was made and had lots of wrong items sent. So disappointed with this branch. You pay and you have to chase and beg them on top of that. Big joke ❌
