They may say you have a 10 year warranty on parts, but if you have a manufacturer’s defect in your unit, they will put all of the burden on their customers. My service provider discovered a leak in the coils of my practically new unit, when I reached out to Trane, they just said they weren’t responsible for covering any of the costs surrounding their mistake. So unless you know how to change the coils on an AC unit and have refrigerant stored around the house, you’re looking at somewhere around $2k to get it fixed. Trane further showed the extent of their apathy by not even calling the service provider to get any information about the problem. They certainly don’t care about customer service as it took whole weeks in between the brief messages I received from them. Do yourself a favor. Don’t buy Trane products.
