  One of the springs on our garage door broke over the weekend, so my wife called the garage door company we had used years ago. The number now routed to a new business called All Seasons Garage Door. They came out on Monday in a nice new van. I showed the technician the broken spring and asked for a price to replace it. Instead of answering, the first thing he did was try to sell me a brand‑new garage door. I told him I wasn’t interested — I just needed the broken spring replaced. I asked again what the spring and labor would cost. He spent nearly ten minutes looking at pulleys, cables, and typing on his computer before finally giving me a price: $670 for one spring, or around $800 for both, and of course he “recommended” replacing both. I had already checked typical prices through AI tools, and the average cost in the Atlanta area is about $250 for this repair. I told him his price was too high. He then tried to negotiate and asked what I would pay. I said $300, and he said there was no way he could do it for that. I told him we weren’t going to move forward. I was irritated that it took him almost ten minutes just to quote a price for one of the most common garage door repairs. I called another local company afterward, and they immediately quoted $250 for one spring or $500 for both — right in line with the real market rate. With the information available today, especially through AI, it’s surprising that some companies still try to take advantage of older homeowners with inflated prices. It feels like they’re trying to make their entire week’s profit off one job. I would not recommend this company to anyone, especially retirees, because of their pricing games and upselling tactics.

  Daniel presented himself and spoke well about the purpose for an annual 24 point "Tune Up", to make sure everything on my older metal garage door was in good working order. Hew conducted himself very professionally and friendly. He found and showed me wear and tear on the main pulley wheel bearings and rail roller wheels. He then made a good offer to waive the tune up expense if I replaced those items while he and his coworker where there. I did that and was pleased with the results, noting how much more quite the opening and closing processes were as evidence of the worn items being replaced. I also received a discount for signed up for the monthly "Dependable Door Club", offering that includes a no-cost annual Tune Up, priority emergency repairs and product discounts. The standard Tune Up cost is more than the total annual cost of the club.

  From someone who is hard to please, I cannot think of anything that I could have asked Daniel Echols to have done better during my new garage door opener and new roller installation yesterday. Daniel takes pride in his work which is unusual these days. He is highly technically qualified, does neat work efficiently and, takes time to answer any questions. He is definitely an asset to his company. I plan to ask for him when I need garage door opener service again.
