- CBCorey BJun 25, 20251.0Floors, Backsplash, Tile Showers… All a Hot Mess. Just toured a new home, and wow—where do I start? The flooring looked like it survived a small tornado: warped boards, uneven seams, and one plank so wonky I almost faceplanted. Definitely not the “solid foundation” I was hoping for. The backsplash tile—which looked flawless online—was a crooked, grout-gone-wild disaster in person. Tiles slanting like they were trying to escape the wall. And the tile showers? Let’s just say “luxury spa” was NOT the vibe. Grout lines all over the place, uneven tiles, and corners that screamed “someone gave up halfway.” Oh, and this isn’t a one-off—another nearby community from this builder had the exact same sloppy floors, backsplash, and tile showers. If I wanted a fixer-upper, I’d buy a barn. Final verdict: 1 star - After two communities of tile and flooring fails, this builder is officially off my list.
