I’m retired military and have lived all across this country and overseas and this is by far the worst power company I have ever had the misfortune to have to rely on. I’ve been to third world countries that have had more consistent service than Slash Pine EMC. I live in the Stockton area and have been here for 6 years. We have had power issues since day 1 in this area. The slightest breeze or moderate rain causes the power to go out. Sometimes momentarily and other times for hours. We went through a couple of months where the power would go off and then come back on every day and usually two or three times a day. It wreaks havoc on household electronics and our HVAC system not to mention both my wife and I use CPAP’s. Last night was the straw that broke this camels back. First rain we’ve had in weeks and after it ended the power went out for 3 hours from 8P-11P. This is absolutely insane. For the amount of money I’m paying for electricity I expect more than what they are providing. Let me make it clear that my beef is with the management of this company, not the hard working linesman and repair folks that have to maintain this obviously archaic power grid. I’m sure they are frustrated too having to be called out after hours repeatedly. I want to know what management is doing to correct the obvious and repeat power issues. If I had another option for my power source I would surely jump at the chance.
