Great service. Cameron made it his mission to remove an unknown object from our sewer line. After several hours of tirelessly fishing, he pulled out a microfiber rag that one would incorrectly assume was far too large to fit down a standard American toilet. While the exact circumstances surrounding how the rag found its way into the depths of the sewer line remain a mystery, the important thing is that it has been removed. Cameron was a beast. A lessor man could not have met the challenge.

We called Rooter Plus because our tank had not been pumped in a few years. They called to say the technicians were on the way, they arrived 20 minutes later, right on time. The technicians, Jacob and Kyle were both friendly and professional. To my surprise, they said our tank didn't need to be emptied. I really appreciated the honesty, most companies would have just pumped it anyway. I will definitely be calling them back when the tank needs servicing. Highly recommend them!

"excess sludge” upsell is a very common tactic in the septic industry.
I want to share my experience so other homeowners know what to expect before scheduling service.
When I called earlier this week to schedule a septic tank cleaning, I specifically asked the price to pump a 1,000-gallon tank. I was told the price would be $150.
For context, this same company serviced my system in 2021, when they installed upgrades and confirmed that my home has a 1,000-gallon septic tank.
When the technician arrived today, he informed me the actual cost would be $440 because my tank had what they call “excess sludge.”
The issue is not the technician—he was professional and simply following company policy. The issue is the company’s pricing transparency.
Apparently:
• $150 only covers pumping liquid
• If there is “excess sludge” (which they say requires manual breaking up), the price increases by $294+
The problem is that virtually every septic tank will have sludge. That’s literally part of how septic systems work.
The technician even explained that they test this by placing a shovel on the sludge layer:
• If it sinks, it’s normal
• If it doesn’t, it’s “excess sludge”
Realistically, most tanks will fall into the second category.
So while customers are quoted $150, the actual price ends up being around $440 once the technician arrives.
That is a huge difference, and customers should be told this possibility before scheduling service, not after the technician is already on site.
When I called the office to discuss it, the explanation was that the technician informs you of “non-standard conditions” before starting the work.
But if something happens in the vast majority of jobs, it should be clearly explained up front, not presented as an exception.
If the real cost is typically around $400–$450, then that should simply be the quoted price.
I ended up paying because I had already taken time off work and scheduled the service, but the experience left me very frustrated.
Again, the technician himself was fine. My concern is strictly with the company’s pricing communication and customer service practices.
I hope the company improves transparency so future customers know what they are actually going to pay before scheduling service.

If you need your septic tank pumped out, would like a professional and knowledgeable technician, and also be charged a fair price, please look no further. I cannot recommend this company enough, and our technician David O'Connor was just AMAZING. I have a background in environmental health and David was spot on with everything he mentioned about septic tanks. He was extremely friendly and professional, I will absolutely be calling him back again for anymore septic services. If you are tired of being jerked around or scammed, give Rooter Plus a call, they will square you away fast and do yourself a favor and ask for David O'Connor. He's awesome!!! Thanks again David!!

Told it would cost $150 to dig lid and pump 1000 gal which was what I paid another company 3 years ago knowing I need field lines replaced. Technician arrives removes lid and big surprise I need to repair line price will be $12000. I say just pump it I am building contactor I can just replace whole thing way less. But then he says he can for 4000. No I said just pump it. I know I have very old field lines and replace is best. Then technician says we'll it's gonna be a lot more now! Why I ask because that how it works lol. I had to pay Over $500 to get it pumped with very little sludge either.
So for now folks just use someone who maybe little higher but flat fee so suprises.
