I was using another company for my biannual HVAC service. One day I received a text from a very satisfied PV customer ranting and raving about the instalation of a unit she had installed in her garage. I was going to get the same unit but decided on a new HVAC system instead. The customer service from marketing, to scheduling to instalation was top notch. The technicians (Jairon and David) arrived promptly, worked diligently, assessed the space for proper measurements, address all my concerns, and made sure I had a clear understanding of how my new thermostat worked. It is VERY likely that I will be using them for my biannual maintenance because I had such a great experience!

Joh Seaman from PV came by to give us quotes for replacing our ancient gas furnace with a heat pump system. He was professional and knowledgeable about their offerings. After measuring the house he gave us four levels of quotes from premium to economy. Though we had several quotes done by different HVAC companies, Joh’s professionalism was what convinced me to go with PV.

Juan and Pedro came to install the system. They were knowledgeable and worked really hard to get the installation done today. We have a couple of cats so they were really careful to keep the doors closed. They worked overtime and the heat pump is working great! They put down drop cloths and cleaned up really well when they were done. It was a great experience.

I've been using PV for years since they were a much smaller company. At that time, they provided extremely high quality service at prices that beat every competitor in town. They had been providing top notch service for years. Now, I'm not so sure anymore.
I most recently used them to have a new HVAC system installed at my new house and to do some upgrade and repair work on other existing systems. I found their price for this work to be fair and they did a really great job with the work. However, they apparently misquoted the duct cleaning and - after I paid in full - they tried to get me to pay over $1k more for their mistake. It took numerous phone calls to get a higher up there to acknowledge their mistake and to stop asking me for more money. That was my first issue with PV.
Next, I had my yearly plumbing inspection as part of my annual maintenance plan. The plumber suggested charging me something like $400 to "rebuild" a toilet that was running. My other plumber then fixed it quickly for next to nothing. The rest of the plubling inspection resulted in getting suggestions in the range of $6k, which just seemed like a massive upsell.
Third, at my winter HVAC maintenance, I asked the tech to take a look at my dryer vent that was having issues. He said a flapper was stuck open and that it needed a new part. He quoted me an astronomical $700 for a part that literally costs $10. I called PV to ask if this was a mistake, and was told someone would look into it and they never called me back. In the meantime, I had a dryer vent company fix it a few days later for under $200.
Now, I'm trying to get an invoice for the heat pump they installed last year so I can apply for the $2k tax credit. The invoice they sent me last year had no line item amount for the heat pump, and I've been trying to get documentation of the amount I paid for the heat pump for weeks with no progress. I'm always told someone will call me back and they never do.
I had been recommending PV to everyone that ever asked about a good HVAC company, but now I'm not so sure. Their communication has been awful and everything seems like a massive upsell opportunity for them. Perhaps they've gotten too big or there's some other issue going on. Either way, this is not the same PV that I worked with in the past.

DO NOT USE!! If I could give -4 stars I would. This company is beyond sketchy. Even their numbers come up as junk on your phone. My original appointment was on 03/30/26 between 12p-6p. I was called around 4:30p notifying me that I was rescheduled due to a lot of emergency cases. My new appointment was 03/31/26 between 10a-2p. Nobody came or called so I called them at 1:46p and Owen told me that Thomas would be running late due to an emergency case. Thomas called me around 2:15p saying he’d be there closer to 3p. He arrived at 3:16p and did not begin working until 3:49p due to scope of work and time approvals needed from headquarters. He finished working on my guest bathroom in 5 minutes and started on my master bathroom. After 10 minutes he decided to tell me the screw is stripped and he’d have to break the handle to take it off. I asked to see the stripped screw and all of a sudden he had a special tool in his case to remove the “stripped” screw. He worked while I watch and he was able to fix the hot water issue. I checked the temperature and I wasn’t satisfied because it was the same as before. He then explained that the screw isn’t able to fully screw in because it’s not the original hardware it was a replacement. He left my shower handle hanging by a thread(jiggling to touch) and I still do not have hot water in my master bathroom. Mind you I checked the guest bathroom after he left and there’s no screw on that handle at all but it doesn’t jiggle.

Jacob left the unit disassembled and firing, which allows "flame rollout" and sends CO directly into the room.
Instead of addressing the air deficiency, the PV tech (Jacob) used "scare tactics" and dismiss my findings by claiming my house was “drafty” before he even walked inside – but he would not give his “opinion” on the BTU load vs availability because “he had not performed the tests”– to push a tankless water heater conversion and HVAC overhaul, despite my main HVAC being brand new, the upstairs unit being only 6 years old, and the water heater being a 2022 model.
The basement is a confined space. The total equipment load is 90,000 BTU, but the room volume only supports 91,000 BTU. This leaves zero safety margin for proper combustion air.
The technician recorded a "good" draft of -7.0 Pascals inside the flue pipe only because the upstairs windows were open. This "cheated" the test by manually providing the makeup air the house is starving for.
When the HVAC was turned on, the draft reading dropped below the safety limit. It only recovered because the open windows allowed the house to "inhale" from upstairs.
PV refused to perform a "Worst-Case Depressurization Test" with the house fully sealed. In a sealed state, the house vacuum will override the chimney and cause backdrafting.
I require a 6-inch combustion air intake (makeup air pipe) cored through the exterior brick wall to satisfy the 90,000 BTU load and equalize the house pressure
They used time I do not have as a cancer patient with adrenal insufficiency and did not solve anything. I did not even get the quote or fix I called them for.
