  We closed on our Palmwood home 3 weeks ago. From start to finish, we were impressed with the entire process and the people that helped along the way. Stephanie welcomed us into the sales office and was knowledgeable and always receptive. She pointed us to Mary who was amazing with all things financing. Ann was fantastic with keeping us updated throughout the building process and Wes has gone above and beyond at making sure all of the details have been taken care of, even after closing. Linda did a great job of going over everything at closing, and we could not be happier with our new home. All of the details that went in to this build are truly appreciated and we look forward to many years to come in it. Thank you, everyone for all of your time and attention in making this experience such a positive one from start to finish!

  I personally do not recommend this builder after a few interactions with them. Including 5 years ago when I was looking to purchase a home the sales office was extremely rude and dismissive (we went with a different builder instead and had a much nicer and streamlined experience). Edit in response: I wrote my review based on MY experience dealing with your company. In no way should you blend the two. MY experience dealing with this company was unpleasant and unprofessional.

  Palmwood built our custom home. Every step of the way, every person I worked with, every sub contractor that showed up on site was polite, professional, took pride in their work and expressed military level attention to detail. I couldn’t be any happier with the work they did. They built a solid home that would survive a category 50 hurricane, an EF60 tornado or a massive Florida earthquake ! Cleanliness is very important to me - every sub contractor cleaned up after themselves every day. I have not a single complaint from the beginning to the end. They built our 5k sq ft home in 10 months. Dale was my superintendent and he was in complete non-stop communication with me every single work day. I had his business phone number for during business hours, as well as his personal cell phone number if I needed anything after hours or on Christmas morning if needed. Ian was my contract manager and he also was in constant communication with me every week throughout the process, which is unusual for a contract manager to be that on top of things Usually, you just deal with a contract manager at the beginning of the sales process and at the end during closing I didn’t have any surprises, and we didn’t go a penny over budget, eerything was just as smooth as it could possibly be and I couldn’t be any happier with the home they built for my family.

  I can’t even imagine a scenario that’s better than the experience that I had building my custom home through Palmwood construction. I’m a contractor myself living & working in Hernando County, and I’ll be honest with you - I didn’t even reach out to another builder. I have a lot of friends that are contractors in the area, as well as real estate agents and people in the trades business - and even through my own personal experience talking to my own customers who live in Palmwood homes, I knew that Palmwood construction is the best custom home builder in this town. I didn’t even consider or reach out to another builder. While I was building my home, a good friend of mine was also building their custom home with Palmwood as well and they were pretty much one step ahead of me the entire time. Their experience was just as good and flawless as mine. In custom home construction things come up. It is what it is. As a contractor myself, it’s not about the issue that comes up. It’s about how the contractor handles it. I hear horror stories about how people enter into a contract with a home builder and establish a budget and wind up going 10% or 15% over budget and wind up having to cut a BIG check at the end, for a lot more than what they originally agreed upon. We did not have any of these “surprises”. There were a few things, of course, that came up (it is a custom home after all) and the builder owned up and handled it no arguments, no problems, no up-charges. Ian was the contract manager for our home. Not only was he personable, very easy to talk to and very simple to get along with - his job is to make sure that you stay within your budget - and he genuinely knows his job very well. All of his numbers were exact, which was integral for making sure we did not go over budget and have any of those “surprises”. There were a few “upgrades” we did - and he was able to find places within our already established budget to sneak those upgrades into. He stayed in contact with me at least 3 or 4 times a week making sure everything was running smooth and all my expectations were met. Usually, a contract manager wouldn’t show up to the job site - but he was present the entire time throughout the build. Showing face several times a month - always with a smile and a good conversation. Very professional guy. Dale was our superintendent. There was not a day that went by where I didn’t either see him in person, or talk to him on the phone. He was in nonstop communication with me (which is what I told him I wanted). I happen to run my business from the location as well, so I was always there every day, throughout the day. There were several times where I heard him talking tough to some of the subcontractors, making sure that every single day, somebody was there doing something and working. We were able to build our more than 5000 square-foot custom home from the day we broke ground, to the day we got our keys in 10 months, all because of his persistence and hard work. He didn’t take crap from anybody. He was on the ball every minute of every day. He’s got an eye for detail beyond anything I could’ve imagined. I knew going into this that I needed to work with Dale because of the stories I’ve heard about him from my contractor friends that have worked with him in the past. Everybody has said that he is insanely detail oriented and has crazy high standards for everything done. From a subcontractor standpoint, he’s a pain in the butt. But from a customer, who’s getting a custom home built - That is who you want being on top of everybody Dale is the exact type of person that I would want to hire to oversee my companies projects. He is absolutely an asset to the company that they could never let go - Because I would scoop him up in a second!!!!! I couldn’t be any happier with our home, or our experience - and we are so thankful to Palmwood construction for building the place where I will be building our family memories as we raise our 2 daughters here. They don’t just build houses. They build homes.
