We just used Manasota Flooring in Sarasota to replace all of the floors in our home in Palmetto. Wow! What a great experience. Melissa Huber, our sales rep, was terrific... helpful, offered great suggestions, and followed the process with us every step of the way. Their onsite team -- from measurements to installation -- prompt, polite and thorough. 5 stars. A big job, but a great experience!

Purchased a house from Highland Homes in 2023 in Parrish FL. Prior to closing the vinyl flooring in a large portion of the main family room was noted to have numerous glaring ripples and unevenness.
The Highland Homes construction manager stated the floor would be corrected by closing via the flooring installer – Manasota Flooring in Sarasota FL. On the day of closing the floor issues had not been corrected.
NOTE: The Highland Homes Salesperson told us that we were not the only homeowners who were having floor problems. And as we have since discovered, this was sadly the truth as neighbors have stated that Community Facebook page show numerous complaints about the floors.
After waiting weeks for the repairs and only after many calls and emails did things start to move forward. Manasota Flooring was scheduled a date to begin the repairs. However, by 10:50 am on that day no one had showed up and no call from Manasota was received. I emailed the Highland Homes Production Manager and advised him that I had called Manasota twice but the calls only went to voicemail.
As a result, later that day workers finally came and began pulling up large sections of the vinyl plank flooring - making quite a mess in the process. They did some scraping and then inexplicably left after just a short time? After additional communications were made to Highland Homes and I believe a Mr. Johnson from Manasota, a different set of workers arrived two days later. They continued to pull up sections of flooring, then put down some leveling compound (?) and after another day had passed (to allow leveling compound to set?) then installed new vinyl planking.
Results were a bit better, but still very far from what a brand-new home should look like. However, within a few months we started to see several seams open up at the leading/trailing edges of the vinyl planking that had been replaced. We submitted a warranty request to Highland Homes and even contacted their corporate offices in Lakeland, FL. We ended up speaking to a Mr. Andy Hernan. Mr. Hernan was less than helpful or apologetic, and in fact was quite rude. He only offered to have Manasota come back to re-glue the seams, however as the seams were not actually lifting regluing was not the answer.
As time went by other areas of the flooring that had NOT been pulled up and replaced also started to show seams opening up between the pieces as well. So, thinking it could perhaps be something wrong with the flooring itself we contacted the flooring manufacturer – Shaw Industries – directly to open a warranty claim.
Subsequently, Shaw sent out a certified flooring inspector to take a look at everything. The inspector spent a long time investigating, taking measurements and moisture reading in multiple areas, as well as getting samples of the glue (had to peel up a piece of flooring to get the sample).
The Inspector’s/Shaw’s recommendations found that the wrong glue was used, the concrete slab was not allowed to cure correctly resulting in the high moisture readings, and even a section of the slab had not been leveled enough to properly accept the flooring.
Per Shaw, Manasota did not do a correct installation of the original floor in accordance with both the flooring manufacturer requirements, or within recognized industry standards.
We sent a copy of the inspection report along with photos of the issues to Manasota, Highland Homes, Clayton Homes (Highland parent company) and even to Berkshire Hathaway Corporate (as they own Clayton/Highland Homes). We included a letter asking that they supply some amicably and mutually agreeable solution (we even offered to absorb some of the cost).
After almost a month now we have not received any response from any of the companies. Nothing. Not even a too bad, so sad, reply.
Therefore, we would say that people need to avoid Manasota Flooring as well as Highland/Clayton Homes, as they do not provide a quality service or product and clearly do not stand behind their work.

I was veryry pleased with Manasota Flooring. From my first call with Serena, our sales representative, to working with the installation crew, everything was seamless and exceeded my expectations. We were looking to do a project and was on-again / off-again. Serena was very helpful, knowledgeable, resourceful and patient with our decision process. She was very transparent and helpful in getting us the best price.
The two-man installation crew was great. They did what they said they would do and was on time each day and kept the work-site clean and orderly during the 3-day project.
