I’m writing this review for the experience we had with the Smith Family carpets. Wow, just wow. At Lowes, we had the most miserable experience imaginable. I won’t go into the details, just believe me. My wife was going down to Lowe’s for the umpteenth time and she did a quick prayer at a red light and her answer was to google “carpet stores near me”. Her prayer was answered. You see, we were down here in Florida from Pennsylvania to help my mother in law from Molino that has the last name of Smith. So, when the google search came up with Smith Family Carpet’s, it was meant to be. Needless to say, the store was only 3 miles away. My wife visited the store and worked with Sam Smith. The experience was the best we could ever imagine. He worked with our special needs and got the job done in an expeditious manner. Fernando, the installer was excellent and did a masterful job. We had a large remnant from the install and a week later decided to use it for another room. For the new estimate, Baron Smith, the president of the company, visited us and worked with our special needs again. He was creative and understanding of our crazy requests. All in all, we have nothing but excellent reviews for the Smith Family carpets company. Please, please use their services. You won’t be disappointed.

I have a mixed feeling on this review but now it is based on Principal.
I have spent over 20,000$ here in the last 2 years. most recent was about 15000 on my new houses flooring.
When we ordered I thought we were ordering what was needed per measuring, didn't know we were ordering 4 extra boxes, paying 90$ per box and not returnable. When I called about my installer (we hired our friend that does flooring for a living) having extra they said they always order extra and just put it in the attic that they do not do returns.
Why did I not know I was ordering extra? Had I ordered just what was needed they easily could have told me this will not allow for any extra and if we run out will have to wait for another box or 2... Would make sense.
I called back in and told them I am frustrated as I was not told I was paying for extra that we would likely have to put in the attic. I could have been nicer but was direct and did not raise my voice. The guy finally said he would let me return it but they dont normally do that.
At this point I really don't care as it is based on principal. Clear communication and a customer should not have to argue to have things made right. I didn't request extra boxes, nor did I tell them how many I would need for my sq footage. They came and measured, one reason I liked this company.
I truly felt confident in doing the flooring in another house I have from here but likely will have to settle somewhere else. Customer care has gone out the window.
I am VERY torn and at this point will eat the money rather than walk back in where I had to get upset over something I was not aware of that they did at my expense. I'm sorry Smith Family Carpets, I think you've lost me.

They don't deserve the 1 star I'm forced to give them because there's no lower rating!!
- Countless calls not returned
- Left toilet water line on so when I turned water back on it shot out into my hallway all over the place!
- Didn't install toilets after bathroom tiling. I had to do it because no one would rerun calls about getting the job finished the right way.
- Scratched my newly professionally painted walls
- Stretched carpet 2nd time after calling several times; pads too short. Now, it's starting to roll near doorway again!
- I had to uninstall old carpet & pads which hey were supposed to do.
- Should have told me ceramic is NOT for bathrooms. (Porcelain is what you're supposed to use.) Now I have moisture issues in both bathrooms.
- Tile cement got on both my bathroom walls/baseboards. Still there; looks terrible!!
- All this when I spent $3500 with them for carpet & tiling for almost my entire new home!
