If you are ever in need of truly spectacular garage door service, this is truly your one-stop shop! I want to specifically sing the praises of our recent service technician, Matt Brown; he came to the house with a huge grin on his face, ready to get going on the work that had to get done. He went above and beyond our expectations with regards to the repair, and did such a good job with the door that it feels/sounds just like it did when we first moved in! I can't speak highly enough of the service we received. A1 truly is a great company with great employees, and as long as we live in the area we'll be using them for all of our garage door-related needs!
I highly recommend Mario Taveras from A1 Garage Door Service. The entire process was seamless, from the ease of scheduling the appointment to the completion of the repair. Mario is an incredibly honest and hardworking technician. He took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all my questions, which I truly appreciated. On top of his great work, he was very professional and left everything spotless once he was done. If you need garage door service in Orlando, ask for Mario!
Shoutout to Mounir from A1 Garage Door for outstanding service! He took the time to thoroughly inspect my garage door, clearly explaining how the existing spring was struggling to handle the door's weight and pointing out safety concerns with the motor. I really appreciated his honest, no-pressure approach and expert recommendations. I ended up upgrading to the red spring, and the difference is amazing—smoother, safer operation and peace of mind. Thank you, Mounir and A1 Garage Door, for reliable, professional service I can count on!" 🙌🔧
My garage door is about 30 years old and was in serious need of servicing, so I called A1 Garage Door Service—and I’m extremely glad I did.
Mario Taveras came out and did a complete inspection and troubleshooting of the entire system. He ended up replacing the springs, rollers, cables, weatherstripping, and several other components to get everything back into proper working order.
The difference is incredible. Even though it’s an extremely heavy, hurricane-proof door, I can now lift it manually with just four fingers, and it operates almost silently when opening and closing. Mario also took the time to check my garage door opener and made some needed adjustments there as well, at no extra charge.
I really appreciated his professionalism and attention to detail throughout the entire process. I highly recommend A1 Garage Door Service—and especially Mario—to anyone who needs garage door repair or servicing.

Update: just to be clear… the technician literally asked me what I was willing to pay for the garage door springs. And offered me higher quality springs with a five-year warranty, but then stated he would only honor it for two years and that’s how he would be able to give me the lower price. Also, it would be professional and acceptable for your technicians to provide written estimates of all of the work, including breakdown of pricing prior to work beginning. The technician did say that I needed the cables and the rollers needed to be replaced, but they did not as I had just had them recently replaced in the last two years. When the other company came out to install the springs that I purchased, they confirmed that the cables and the wheels were in perfect condition and did not need to be replaced. Based off of the other reviews on the BBB and other various social media platforms, I’m clearly not the only customer who has had this very same experience of price, gouging, and up selling.
I had a very concerning experience with this company and would strongly urge others to get multiple quotes before agreeing to any work.
I called for a fairly standard repair—replacing two garage door springs. The technician, John Ayers, initially quoted me over $1,600 plus a service call fee. When I questioned the price, it was suddenly reduced to $1,300, with an explanation that he would install higher-quality springs with a 5-year warranty—but only honor a 2-year warranty. He also began adding on other items like cables and rollers that he claimed needed replacement.
As I continued to push back on the pricing, the quote kept dropping—to $750, and then eventually to $550 (including the service call). At that point, I mentioned I had already received another quote for a little over $350 for the same job, including service. When I pointed out how unusual it was for the price to go from $1,600 to $550 for supposedly the same work, the technician struggled to explain and simply said his manager approved it.
This kind of drastic price fluctuation feels very concerning and made me uncomfortable. It came across as an attempt to see how much I would be willing to pay rather than offering fair, consistent pricing from the start.
I ended up not moving forward. I recommend others be cautious, ask questions, and always compare quotes before committing.
