Dandy Sand is a family-owned and –operated sand and gravel supplier. We serve the needs of customers throughout the Dade, Broward, Monroe, and Palm Beach Counties.
I went in to purchase peacock rock but decided to go with #57 rock instead, which is typically priced the same at most places. As usual, I weighed my truck upon arrival and then backed up to load 14–15 buckets. Based on past experience, a full load like this normally costs between $22–$24 when charged by weight.
When I went to pay, I was surprised to be told the total was $43 and change—nearly double what I usually pay. I mentioned that I had been there before and paid around the usual amount for a similar load. I was told I would need to bring a receipt next time to avoid any confusion.
After reviewing the receipt, I noticed they never weighed my truck out. Instead, I was charged per bucket at the sand rate, not the #57 rock rate—which is understandably more expensive. This felt misleading and unprofessional.
Not great business practices, especially since I was planning to stop by every weekday for the rest of the month to raise my backyard and prep for pavers. Unfortunately for them, they’re not the only supplier along my route home. Hopefully others have better luck.

Worst customer service ever from Deanna the owner. Starting by hanging up the phone after asking for Robert and he is no longer with them. Ends up hanging up the phone a second time.
