I received a call from the Owner of R.A.J. Electric yesterday who was sincerely apologetic regarding my bill. She explained away much of the dissatisfaction expressed below. The bill sent to me seems to have been sent by an inadequately trained individual and has been adjusted from $851. to $186. As for the non responsive return phone calls to messages I have left, that was somewhat resolved as well.
I will give them another chance.

BE WARY of R.A.J. Electric
I have 2 complaints I would like to share.
1. I have a 24 kw generator that was installed by RAJ Electric on 7/19/2021.
While I pay $495 yearly for maintenance I occasionally have to call for help with an error code or some other glitch that needs to be corrected.
Supposedly, if you are on their maintenance program you get some type of priority for service. Not my experience with them at all!
RAJ is the worst company I have ever dealt with for customer service. It’s almost impossible to get someone on the phone. I have had more than one occasion that I’ve needed to speak to someone so badly that I had to drive there. The most recent happened on 3/6/2026 when I called because my gen was showing an error code and would not run. I left a message and I heard nothing from them for 10 days. By the time I got a text saying that a tech was coming I had already called a competitor and they came the same day and corrected the problem.
2. About 2 weeks ago I had 3 outlets that suddenly stopped working in my kitchen that prevented my refrigerator, among other things, from working. Rather than get frustrated by trying to call them, I drove there to see about getting an appointment to fix the problem and got an appt. for about 5 days later. 2 techs showed up on the appointment day and proceeded to correct the problem. Turns out it was a bad ground fault receptacle and they replaced it. Two days ago I received an Email bill from them for, wait for it, $851.00. Are they kidding! A $5 outlet in Home Depot. I was never given any type of estimate and if I had, I would certainly not have accepted the service call.
I am in the process of interviewing a few companies to take over my generator and electrical issues in the future and will not be using this company ever again.

Paul Hasler did a maintenance check on our Generac. He was thorough, he explained his work, and he was personable and professional. Can't really ask for more. Actually, he did more: He gave me some extra oil.

Costco shoppers beware! If you're shopping for a Whole House Generator and your Costco referral is sent to RAJ Electric, try another source. It took 4 days to get someone from RAJ to call me once my inquiry was submitted to Costco. And the first thing out of RAJ's representative's mouth was, "you know it costs around $17,000 for a 17kw generator installed," as if to say, Can you afford this? I responded to her that I have been shopping around and my information was around $15,000 and that was for a 22kw, not a 17kw with 500lp propane tank. I asked if, once I get a firm quote can I call back to see if you could come close or match it, especially since I would receive a 10% Costco Gift Card of the purchase price. I was told yes. So when I did get a firm quote for $16,347 without the tank being filled I called back and was told that the Estimator was in this morning and she'll show him my quote. No call back that day and I left two messages to see if the quote was ready. The next morning I called and Jenna stated that she would check and let me know. That afternoon I finally got a call back and was told that the Estimator would NOT accept my quote and that I would have to be placed in line for the next appointment available in September. My quote had every spec needed including a sight plan, Generac 22kw generator as well as a 200 amp transfer switch along with the tank size, placement and even the number of feet needed for the pipe line to be laid. Everything needed to be submitted for permit(s). I told her that I was upset since I was promised I could get a quote based on my estimate and that I felt since I was talked down to, insulted by the first contact stating the cost could be $17,000 and could I afford it, again in so many words, and being put off for four days before I even got a call after submitting with Costco. I wanted to speak to the owner and was told they would leave a message for him. I also stated that I would wait a few days before writing a negative review as long as I had a call back from the owner, letting him know what transpired. Well here we are a week later, no call back. Now for the best news… my actual cost for a 22kw generator with 200 amp transfer switch along with a 500 LP propane underground tank installed with all permits, cost me $15,555. This company should not be a representative of Costco, they are not what Costco members are use to.

The office staff and electricians, are extremely professional and courteous. They are prompt and gave a fair price for the job.
