We have had our AC units serviced by Emerald Air for years now. We have difficult units to service and they go above and beyond to make sure everything is running smoothly. A specific shoutout to the Andy for always going the extra mile for our requests and for the front desk ladies for always sounding so courteous and willing to help! Thank you all, I can’t say good enough things about you and your business!

I feel like I was just shaken down today for a 5-month old invoice that was never sent to me and for questionable services performed. Apparently they charge $80 to come and "inspect" your system, but I was unaware of this fact when I called and asked them to come out, and my perception was that it wasn't adequately inspected anyways. The invoice was regarding a service call, in May, where the technician "found" two leaks, one in the evaporator coil and one in the condenser coil. Convenient, i'll need a new system right? Since the coils in both sides of the system are bad? I got a second opinion, and the leak was actually in a pump. This was blatantly obvious when the second opinion technician from an alternate company had loaded a small amount of refrigerant into the system. I could replace the pump and be fine, but I decided to purchase an entirely new system anyways since the refrigerant in the old system is being phased out. Oh, and little did the technician from Emerald know, but the coils in my evaporator and condenser were newer than the overall system... because there had been a leak in the past, and it was fixed by removing and replacing the bad components. I'm not an expert in HVAC systems, but I am an experienced Mechanical Engineer, so I know some things. Seemed like he just kinda came out, looked around, saw it was old, couldn't find the leak, and just went with what is a typical cause, rather than following a complete troubleshooting process. Furthermore, Emerald was going to provide a quote for a new system but never did... then sent this surprise $80 service call invoice five months after the fact. I paid the dang thing because it's less of a hassle than the alternative, but damn. End of fiscal year, I suppose. I can't recommend this company.
