  Trey was fantastic to work with and the Elmer Cook roofing team's workmanship is exceptional. My power bill dropped the day insulation went in. Multiple neighbors complimented us on the look of the new roof. Now I'm expecting metal roofs to start popping up all over my neighborhood.

  I want to thank Trey Cook and staff, for the excellent job they did from start to finish, on my new metal roof. Having always had shingles, I very much appreciated the extra time Trey and the roof crew took, to explain how the roof would be done. The house I had roofed, was in quite a state of disrepair. 13 sheets of plywood were used to get the roof ready, plus I had the pitch increased for better drainage. All of this was completed in a timely, efficient manner. The morning I was going to text Trey with yet another question, I inadvertently called him. This was quite early, but Trey was very polite, even in this awkward situation...I owe him an apology and thanks for that! Cole and all of the other crew members were friendly, and always said hello. They left the job site in very clean condition, too. Thanks to all of the Cook Construction folks! Harriet and Brad Gifford

  Trey Cook and his team were very responsive and professional. Great communication throughout the whole process and attentive to details getting the work done. They installed a new metal roof in my house and I noticed the temperature difference immediately. Before the new roof my new AC had trouble keeping up with the hot summer but after I got the metal roof it had no problem keeping the house cool. I was worried a new roof was going to be too expensive but their prices were very affordable.

  I could not be happier with every aspect of having my metal roof installed by Elmer Cook Construction. From beginning to end it was a pleasant experience. Trey Cook (Elmer Cook III) who is the son and general manager was my single point of contact to schedule a meeting to measure the roof, get an estimate, determine an available time for installation, schedule installation, monitor installation, post installation inspection, and mitigation forms for the insurance company. Trey was just a phone call away for any question or concern I had. When he found an open spot in the installers’ schedule he called to see if I could accept an earlier installation date (not a delay… earlier than planned). When the guys showed up to install the roof, it was a swarm of activity that did not end until the job was done. Each guy worked on his specific area of expertise, and they all worked together seamlessly. Previously, when I spoke with people about metal roofs, I was told, “they put the metal roof right over the shingle.” They do much more than that. They clean off all the flashing and shingles on the edge of the roof, put down an insulating material, and secure it with battens that then form the solid attachment points for the metal roofing. While that was going on the “edge guy” was trimming the edges of the roof to make them look clean and neat. I have been in the home for 16 years and knew that eventually the insurance company would want me to get a new roof. Had I known the benefits I would have done it earlier. I honestly do not know what the cost difference is between a shingle roof and my metal roof, but I see numerous benefits that offset any cost differential for me. It was far less messy than taking all the shingles off the roof. The installation did not just “cover up” issues… it “cleaned up” issues. The metal roof should last much longer than shingles. The insulation effect is noticeable. When I get up in the morning, I set the thermostat to 80 degrees. Before installation of the metal roof the air conditioning would kick on around noon once the day had warmed up. Since the new metal roof was installed the air conditioner does not kick on until around 1500. It has not gotten into the hot days of summer, but the insulative affect of the metal roof installation is already noticeable. The house seems more secure, sturdy, and even soundproof to a degree. When I told the insurance company that I had a new metal roof they increased my insurance premium slightly because the replacement value of my home had increased. But then when I forwarded the Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form provided by Elmer Cook Construction, my yearly insurance premium decreased dramatically. It was a pleasure to work with Trey and the guys. I should have done it years ago.
