I gave them a call and was helped by Jessie. She was very informative and helped me swiftly. Within 2 hrs from when we spoke I had my shop up and running again. I will definitely use Herc in the future in the event of another compressor failure at my shop and will recommend Herc to friends and family. Jessie’s knowledge and ability to make the rental process so seamless and quick made the experience much better.
- TMTJ MouradianAug 1, 20251.0We reserved a large atrium lift from Herc Rentals in Fort Lauderdale nearly a month in advance for a $16,000 rental. The night before delivery, they suddenly demanded a very specific Certificate of Insurance (COI). We immediately worked with our insurance provider and spent the entire next day revising the document. Each time we submitted a new version clearly meeting and even exceeding their requirements by $40,000 Serenatea Hernandez, the assistant manager, refused it with no explanation beyond “refer to the sample.” She gave zero clarification and made no effort to work with us. Her responses were short, dismissive, and unhelpful at every step. Brandon Durrance, our territory sales rep, was the only one who actually tried to assist us and keep the rental moving forward. But Serenatea continued adding roadblocks, even telling us after all of this that they didn’t have a way to deliver the lift. Despite all this, we still tried to work with them and finalize the insurance. While we were actively resolving the COI, Serenatea sent a message threatening to rent it to “another customer waiting on it” which we seriously doubt, given how specialized this lift was. We called Sunbelt. No special insurance required. Delivered same day. Done. Herc Rentals Fort Lauderdale wasted our time, couldn’t coordinate basic logistics, and treated us like an inconvenience. Never again.
