- DVDan Volkman4 days ago1.0Toilet repair. $900. Bad experience. This is a job I would normally do myself but because of my age and a shoulder injury I decided to hire a plumber. The person that did the job spoke broken English only so communication was difficult. I had already removed the toilet and cleaned/dried everything and there was no odor. The toilet sits on a flange and it needed to be replaced. Plumber was willing to mount the toilet covering the dirt he created but I was able to catch that and clean it before mounting. He used vice grips to tighten the flange nuts damaging them. He did not shorten the flange bolts so the bolt cover could not fit on so he just leaned the cap on the top of the bolts. He did not use any shims and now, days after the work was done the toilet has a slight rock.

He didn’t look over all the equipment so I have another company coming over to find out what the problem is. I canceled the check because I’m not paying 315 bucks and I still don’t have water work a deal with you for the pipe we bought, but his diagnosis was wrong. He changed out the wrong part.
