- CJCarl JamesDec 12, 20251.0Was told I could not rent a 16 foot ladder because I did not have a ladder rack. As we all know, a 16 foot ladder collapses to 8 foot. I Have a 8 foot bed on my truck. The ladder would fit in my truck bed completely. They said that would not work. You have to have a ladder rack. I have rented ladders before from United rental in different areas around the United States and I have never had this issue.

Not only did the gentleman who picked up not make me feel like an idiot for not knowing exactly what I needed, but picking it up included help loading as well as instructions on usage. The guy at the desk kinda asked me a little bit about my project as well. I’m sure checking it out actually was getting what I needed. I finished the project faster than I thought and brought it back before I went to pick up supplies somewhere else And it just so happened, without me even knowing to be within the four hour window of a half day rental. I literally didn’t even know that that was a thing. So I walked in to return it very pleased with the process and out of the blue, he re-ran the order and made it a half-day rental. Completely unexpected but fully appreciated. If I need something else, I’ll be heading back here!
