- SLSeth LindenJan 5, 20265.0I highly recommend Benjamin Franklin of Dillon. We had a potential boiler issue at our condo in Silverthorne during the New Year's holiday. Greg Tibbets came out last Friday and he was wonderful: he brought the calm and clarity to the situation we needed. He walked us through the boiler, the exhaust venting, operations, etc. He answered all of our questions and he was very knowledgeable of boilers. He was able to show us that we did not have any sort of carbon monoxide leak from the boiler (he even brought an advanced CO / exhaust analyzer). He took the time to answer all of our questions. More importantly he helped clarify a confusion situation. There were a few items in the boiler piping that needed to be fixed... Then today (01/05) he came back to the place and made all of the boiler repairs (back-flow valve and a pressure-relief valve). Everything is working great again with our boiler and it gives us great confidence to use the mountains house with no issues. I highly recommend Greg and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for any boiler or plumbing repairs in Summit Co.

Then he move along to the major issue which was our garbage disposal. Replaced that in no time. The cost was reasonable. Btw. He’s a dog guy so he had zero issues with our 3 large dogs. He even brought a ball for them to play with.

He resolved a minor kitchen sink leak using plumber’s putty in approximately ten minutes. However, Ben Franklin Plumbing (1 Star) charged $595 for a repair that should reasonably cost between $150 and $200. Because I live out of state, I had to rely on a local provider; otherwise, I would have completed the work myself. There are several plumbing options in the Silverthorne area, and I will choose a different service—or a qualified handyman—for future needs. Proceed with caution when using this company.

Chuck (our plumber), and Jane (who handled all my phone calls) went the extra mile to make sure everything got repaired as quickly as possible- even though there were quite a few unexpected challenges. Their communications and responsiveness was excellent. Highly recommend.
