Dear Calvin Turner Roofing Team,
I’m writing to express serious concerns about the lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability during our recent roofing project. What was initially presented to us as a one-day job ended up taking four full days to complete, without any proactive updates or scheduling clarity from your team.
To summarize the issues we experienced:
Roofing materials were delivered without any prior notice or coordination. The outside delivery company arrived unexpectedly while I happened to stop home briefly from work. I had to remain on-site to oversee the drop-off, resulting in the loss of a half day of work that could have been easily avoided with a simple phone call or email.
Crews arrived late each day, often between 10:30–11:00 AM, despite being told work would begin at 7:00 AM.
Food containers and trash were left throughout our yard, bushes, and walkways, which led to an ant infestation in our garage and near our front door.
Most concerning, the project delays and lack of communication caused my husband to miss four full days of work, resulting in $$ in lost wages, as he could not notify his employer in time due to the shifting schedule and lack of updates.
While Russ did make a few calls to my husband, we were also told that an owner or manager would reach out once the job was complete to discuss the delays, debris, and overall mishandling of the project. That call never came.
We chose Calvin Turner Roofing because of our family’s positive experiences—my mother-in-law, (name removed) , has used your company several times, most recently just a week or two before us, and had zero issues. Given that history, it’s extremely disappointing that our first experience was handled with such poor communication and disregard for our time and property.
Why was our home and schedule not given the same level of care and professionalism? The job was repeatedly moved from Monday to Tuesday, then to Friday, only to be left unfinished and extended into the following Monday—with no communication or effort to make it right.
We are requesting a written response addressing:
Why this project took four days instead of one as originally promised.
What steps your team will take to improve scheduling, communication, and jobsite cleanliness.
How your company intends to compensate for the $$ in lost income and the additional half day of work lost due to the unannounced delivery.
Why the promised follow-up from management never occurred.
We are giving Calvin Turner Roofing the opportunity to resolve this matter directly and professionally before pursuing other options or posting public reviews. Please respond promptly with a clear explanation and resolution plan.
Sincerely,
Deborah & Brian Nicholson
