Richmond American Homes does not stand behind their home buyer warranty. When they performed their one year warranty service on our house the Richmond American workers did more damage to our home than they fixed. When we asked the builder to fix what their workers damaged, it was nothing but excuses and finger pointing. We tried to go through their mandatory mediation process, but that was going to cost over $3,000 dollars just to meet with a mediator for 4 hours, and then there was no guarantee of an outcome as mediation is not binding on either party. We would not recommend purchasing a new home from this builder as they do not stand behind their work. Their warranty managers are overworked, and spread out so thin that when you submit any type of request for warranty work you get an eMail stating that they are extremely busy and it may take some weeks or longer to get on the schedule. When you do get them to acknowledge that they should take ownership of an issue, it could take them a year to get it resolved. Believe me, we actually had warranty work that was not completed for over a year. And it was not anything super difficult, just replacing exterior molding that did not match the surrounding moldings. Excuse after excuse on why they could not replace the molding. But other new houses they were building were going up around us that had the molding we needed, so not a supply chain issue. Just a poor customer service experience. Not the type of company you want to spend your money on - look for other builders that stand behind their work and read reviews. Stay away from Richmond American Homes.
