We got ripped off for thousands of dollars by this company. We got a quote for replacing about 6 feet of a galvanized steel sewer line where they charged $1,000 a foot as their standard pricing (which is absurd pricing to start considering what our project entailed which was replacing 6' of straight pipe). However, we were in an emergency situation and had no choice but to go with this exploitive pricing.
When the project was done, we noticed that there was actually only 4 feet of pipe that was replaced. We asked if we were getting a $2,000 discount since the entire work order had not been completed and that we were paying by the foot. We had to fight through multiple phone calls to be told that they were not going to do anything for us.
This was extremely frustrating as they violated their contract and clearly have no sense of customer service. I used to have a 5 star review written on here for this company but I am changing it to a 1 star because they are clearly scammers taking advantage of people that are in stressful situations.
To put it in perspective, I had to replace the sewer line on the other side of the crawlspace that was more than 6' of pipe and had 4 vertical connections with 2 P-traps meaning much more difficult scope. I am not an experienced plumber but I was able to replace this with ABS pipe in about 4 hours and under $100 in materials.
Edit: Their response is pointless as we already tried extensively to work with their management
AAA contacted me with an offer for a $39 furnace checkup, which I agreed to. I wasn’t able to be present, so my wife was home when the technician arrived.
At payment, she mentioned the $39 promotion. The technician said there was also a $79 service fee, and she was charged $49 instead of the quoted $39. None of this was clearly disclosed upfront.
When I called about the billing issue, I was told the call would need to be reviewed to confirm pricing. I wasn’t informed at the time that the call was being recorded. After reviewing it, the billing associate confirmed I was quoted $39 and initiated a refund for both the $79 service fee and $10 overcharge on the checkup.
I’m frustrated with how a simple promotional visit was handled, especially since this was a cold call. I was told they’d like the opportunity to earn my business back and follow up on their recommendations with more competitive pricing, but I never heard back.
Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression

Used AAA plumbing over the years with no problem. Called for estimate on replacing my water heater had 2 techs come out then they had to call a spec tech to come out to make further discoveries with issues on the water heater and surrounding piping and vents. Was told vents had to be replaced they were cracked and had a hole. The size had to be brought up to code what I had in place was a 3 inch vent it needed to be a 4 inch. There was no room for the 4 inch vent so I had to change my water heater to an electric or tankless heater and my electric panel also needed to be moved and upgraded to allow for more wattage … for a price of $22k 🙄…second option was a tankless heater for $10k not in my budget. Called my city bldg to get a variance .. engineer said I did not need to replace vents with 4 inch as long as water heater hood fits new heater. Techs never mentioned this 😞 tech was very aggressive to upgrade… had my cousins install new heater for $1,400 total 😊 Not trusting AAA Anymore😞
We had an outstanding experience from start to finish, and it all began with Jay, our service agent. He was incredibly kind throughout the entire process and went above and beyond when he noticed our boiler was leaking gas. His quick thinking and professionalism in advising us to shut the entire system down kept our home safe, and we’re truly grateful for his care and attention.
The company acted fast and had a team out the very next day to install a new combi unit. Their responsiveness was impressive, but the real star of the installation was Rich, the technician. He was everything we could have hoped for—patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to making sure we understood and felt comfortable with our new system. He even shared his cell number for any questions, and when we reached out, he responded quickly and guided us through without hesitation.
Rich is an absolute gem for the company. His dedication and professionalism made us feel confident and well taken care of. Honestly, having him as our technician makes us feel even better about having membership with this company. Highly recommend!
I’ve been a customer of AAA for the past two years, and to be fair, the quality of their work on prior large projects (a water heater replacement and an electrical upgrade) was good. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has ensured I will never use them again.
On the morning of Christmas Eve, my furnace stopped working. I’m fairly handy and have prior HVAC experience, so I did some basic troubleshooting and determined the issue was likely the blower motor or capacitor. Given the holiday and the cold weather, I called AAA for emergency service.
Two technicians arrived, one of whom was a supervisor. They immediately stated that the blower motor had to be replaced- before testing the capacitor. After I insisted, they tested it and said the capacitor was fine. I then agreed to replace the motor, at which point the supervisor quoted at least $1,500 for the repair.
This is where the interaction crossed from misleading into outright dishonest.
The supervisor claimed the motor was a special OEM-only part, implied it might be difficult to source due to the furnace’s age, and used that claim to immediately pivot into pressuring me to replace the entire furnace instead. None of this was true. The blower motor is a common, generic part. The motor and capacitor I later ordered cost under $100 total, and even if a control board were needed, the part cost is only a couple hundred dollars. An HVAC technician friend independently confirmed that a repair like this should be in the low hundreds, not thousands.
To put this plainly: I was not given inaccurate information- I was given false information, and it was clearly used as leverage to upsell a full furnace replacement. This behavior came almost entirely from the supervisor, who was also extremely pushy once I declined.
To use an analogy: it’s like bringing a car in for a bad alternator and being told the shop won’t replace it, but will happily sell you a new car instead- while misrepresenting the cost and availability of the alternator to force the issue.
What made this worse was being guilt-tripped for calling on Christmas Eve when I refused the furnace replacement. I remained calm and polite, but the experience put a damper on the holiday and permanently destroyed my trust in the company.
AAA may do good work, but based on this experience- particularly the supervisor’s conduct- I would strongly caution others, especially when it comes to emergency or smaller repair calls.
