Strict HOA (they call it something else but you have variable rate dues that will increase over time and they're very involved) 3. Houses are <10ft apart 4. Inflexible on house layout 5. Near million dollar price tag 6. Neighborhood is built less than 50ft from the train tracks (the train you can hear from all the way across Ft. Collins) 7. Not animal friendly (we were told we could maybe add chicken wire but must use their pre-approved farm style 3 beam fence which is large enough for any dog to step through) All in all this was such a soul sucking house shopping experience that we've sworn off new builds entirely. This is a cash grab. Even the salesperson seemed displeased at how penny-pinching and corner-cutting this operation feels. It makes me wonder what corners they're cutting that you can't see. For the same price you can buy a used house with a meaningful lot size and still have money leftover for remodeling.
