  I have to give a huge shout out to Ava back at the office and Tyler the tech who helped me out. Tyler did a fantastic job. as soon as he showed up he was able to ascertain what was going on with the water heater and did the best he could with the situation he was given. He worked extremely fast but not at the sacrifice of quality work and needed an excellent job explaining it along the way so I could understand the options and the issues at hand. I definitely would recommend the service this would have been a five-star review but unfortunately they had a high workload and were unable to get to me house during the schedule deployment time but that is not representative of the service I got or the people I spoke with throughout the process. At the end of the day I definitely will be looking back to Allen again when plumbing issues inevitably arise, and I have to hope that Tyler is still working with them when that time comes.

  Dustin Dodson is one of the most professional and courteous Electricians I have ever worked with. He is a strong asset to Allen Services and reviewed the requirements with the customer in great detail. He understood what the customer wanted and explain exactly how he was going to make sure everything was correct and fully tested afterwards. He also fully cleans up the worksite and made everything look really good. I was impressed. I would recommend Dustin to all of my neighbors in Berthoud and friends in the surrounding area. A+ and 5 Stars!!!😊

  Their prices are predatory. I hired them for some kitchen plumbing tasks, including installing a new faucet that we had already purchased. The faucet installation line item alone was over $600. After installation, the faucet turned out to be defective (which wasn’t their fault), so my partner disassembled it, exchanged it, and reinstalled the new one himself in under 30 minutes. We were overcharged for the other services as well - which totaled over $1,000 for one hour of work. My partner also called to speak to a manager to express our frustration and the receptionist said they'd call him back, but they never did.

  UPDATE: Spent $100 at Home Depot (included two tools needed for the job) and thirty minutes to do what I was quoted $2000 dollars for with Allen Services. Predatory sales tactics, subscription upsells, and price gouging. Trust me when I say this, you will find a much more affordable option if you shop around. Allens Plumbing and Heating is wildly over priced. I've had two quotes from them for electrical and plumbing - both way higher than they should have been. Over the summer, I was quoted $2000 for two hours of electrical work - running a line and new box for a hot tub that was on the other side of the wall from the circuit panel. I got this work done for less than half of what I was quoted through Allen. They technician tried to convince me to get a whole new panel for something like $8K. Last week I quoted $1300-$2000 to do what should be a $300 plumbing job - I know this because I asked a friend who is a plumber. It's a couple of feet of easily accessible copper piping to be replaced. After noticable sticker shock, the price dropped to $800, still way too high. Allens was about to overcharge me an extra $500+, in addition to overpriced work, for the same job. This is bad form. Go to your customers with the pricing that you'll do the job for - not the gouging price. Drop your pricing significantly. Nobody cares about your subscription service. Everyone is struggling and they were happy to take an extra $500 on an already over priced estimate. The plumber Tyler was knowledgeable and friendly - he did his best to find a better price for me. This is a DIY job for me now - I'll pick up a basic plumbing book and the maybe $50+ of supplies I need to do this. Shop around. Get quotes. These businesses will continue to tighten the screws on consumers until we show them how the free market works. Kick rocks, Allen - I will tell every single one of my home owner friends to stay away from your services. Absolutely ridiculous.

  We paid Allen Service $6,000 on August 29, 2025 for a furnace check and a new A/C unit. Two months later, on October 30, 2025, we realized our humidifier wasn’t working when we went to start it up. We called Allen Service for help and, to their credit, they sent someone out the same day. The service technician who came to the house was RUDE. When we had phoned Allen for help, all we knew was that our humidifier wasn’t working when we tried to use it for the first time this fall. We figured—since it worked last winter—that this problem had something to do with the A/C installation. When the tech arrived at our door, he IMMEDIATELY came out out “swinging,” by claiming—with a BIG booming voice—that he had already contacted our A/C technicians who had performed the installation in August and who told him there was “no way” their work could have resulted in a problem with our humidifier. This tech said all this while still standing in our entryway and BEFORE he had looked at our furnace and humidifier. HUH? His words felt like a punch in the face. Then, when he found a loose wire connecting the humidifier to the furnace (most likely knocked loose by all the terrific banging we heard when the new A/C unit was installed) he fixed the wire and left, without ever saying, “OOPS, sorry for the trouble. It appears we MAY have failed to make sure all was in working order upon completion of the job we did 60 days ago..” GRRR. What a way to spoil our day. This could have been handled with so much more finesse. Allen Service was nice as pie when we paid them all that money in August. A mere two months later, they sent someone to the house who showed up in a bad mood and who tried to bully us into paying more for their negligence. Flunk on customer service. Here are two pro tips to guide your employee training: 1) Once you cross our threshold, use your “inside” voice. The man whom they sent to answer our call for help sounded like he was berating an umpire. 2) Had a bad day? Don’t bring that weird energy into our home. Looking back on this experience, I really wish I had asked this individual to leave the minute I heard him open his curt mouth.
