  I have been in my home for just over a year. I bought the home midway through its process. The plans had been already chosen by a prospective buyer. I dealt with Maggie from the purchasing office. She did reiterate this home was unusual due to the shared driveway with several other homes and having no basement. Probably the red flags I should have just accepted and looked elsewhere. The price point however was attractive given the interest rates were making some homes relatively unaffordable. I met Shawn and his counterpart an Aussie or NZ guy. Shawn was gross in his appearance. That was a red flag. Let’s fast forward to the closing and beyond. I have bought 2 other brand new homes, and I know better, but I still did not hire an inspector. I think that was my single biggest mistake. This home and so many like it are built too quickly, and hence lack quality. They are also built with very inexpensive faucets, sinks, tubs, water heaters, furnaces, flooring, doors, hardware, windows(most do not open), and appliances. It’s basically a college level built apartment that you now own, with zero service, a false warranty (they take every opportunity to say no). We have spent $100,000+ redoing much of the home (and we are not even close to being done) because of the way this home was built to begin with. I cannot recommend this builder.

  We love our Oakwood Carriage House in Erie. The personal attention, extremely high level of service we received from Maggie and Brodie throughout the entire home buying process and after exceeded our expectations in every way. Maggie was extremely responsive and supportive in entire home buying process. She ensured the process was as easy as possible and helped us any time we needed anything. Brodie consistently went out of his way throughout the home building process after closing. He ensured we had everything we needed. He was quick to respond, and was consistently there to answer any questions we had. Brodie assisted us in so many ways that were above and beyond and made us feel like we were his only clients.

  We are very excited to close on our new home today built by Oakwood Homes! It’s been an easy process and everyone we’ve worked with was very knowledgeable! Maggie and Brodie were top notch and we strongly recommend them!

  I will NEVER do business with this company. Spent a month trying to get my numbers where I wanted them with my bank. Finally had everything prepared, only to have my meeting with the closing agent cancelled and rescheduled. When I went in for my rescheduled meeting I was informed the price of the home I was going to buy had increased by 25k. It was nothing but a money grab and my experience was bad from start to finish. Spend this kind of money on a home elsewhere.
