- ARAlexander RockwellNov 29, 20251.0We have had consistent problems with the heating and Air Conditioning in this house. For a less than 2 year old house, we have had 20+ appointments for troubleshooting why the Air conditioning either doesn’t work or significantly underperforms (85+ degrees In certain rooms). And now in winter, the furnace has been inoperable due to blower motor issues, with a third party company that we had to hire finding PVC shavings in the system due to installer carelessness. We are arriving home finding the house in the 50 degree range.

My wife and I were extremely excited to do a new build with because with interest rates what they are it made sense with the incentives they were offering. We picked out a lot, model and put our earnest money down. At that point we were told we wouldn’t know what our interest rate be until 90 days to close, because the incentives were always changing. Well when that time came the lended said we didn’t qualify for a special rate because we didn’t close in 60 days. Our house wasn’t even started at that point. We said ok we will just use the closing cost incentive Richmond Homes is giving us through our own lender to buy down the rate. Then we are told we can’t use another lender and get get closing cost assistance. All of these thing would be ok if we were not told the opposite, by the Richmond Homes agent representing their company. We were absolutely misled through this process and if you are reading this I hope you look into one of the other many home builders in the area. UPDATE To be clear thIS WAS NEVER SHARED WITH THEIR MANAGEMENT TEAM.
